I agree and totally understand with soopafly's cynicism, but i'm pretty confident that the album will come out soon (I think around Christmas).

October London said he's heard the whole album, Whether it's a rough version, sequencing, no. of tracks to be finalised or not, sounds like it's done, unlike Detox, where people have heard or worked on some individual tracks, but not the whole project.
The only thing that's keeping me cynical, is that I would have expected some names of songs released or even some audio leaks....

If it's not released by Christmas, then I would say it won't come out!

I think it would be a good project but won't be anywhere near the level of Doggystyle, especially if he is going with the modern sound.
I just prefer the organic drum pattens on 90's hip-hop, which has a timeless sound. The modern sound is to artificial and doesn't have the longevity imo.

I am positive it will come out (don’t ask me why, I don’t know 😀).

I’m not expecting the album to be like Doggystyle or have the same feel, this is 3 decades later, The artist & the producer are not the same as they were 30 years ago.

I just want it to be good on its on level because I have been hoping for one more Dre produced Snoop album and it’s so close.

I don't agree with some takes on the promotion of this album.

Snoop doesn't rely on album music sales anymore. Snoop is huge. Look how much money he made from the Olympics, and now he is on the Voice.

Think of it this way - Snoops new album doesn't need promotion, because the album itself is promotion for Snoop Dogg. Snoop markets himself now. Do you think Gin and Juice is this revolutionary drink? Of course not. People are buying it strictly because it is attached to Snoop and Dre.

People like Snoop don't need to spend a ton of promotion for his music. I don't think Snoop or Dre are expecting the album to sell millions of copies. The album will simply continue to promote both Snoop and Dre. And if the album ends up being well received, then that is a bonus.

This isn't like someone like RBX who really isn't a household name and can use his image to promote more business opportunities. RBX can't use his album as a promotional opportunity to get new gigs. RBX really needs the album to sell some copies, otherwise it is probably a net loss for him. Even if Snoops new album barely sells anything, it will still promote the hell out of Snoop Dogg and keep him in the lime light.

I've watched the interviews with Snoop and Dre and I do believe the album will be released. Dre never promoted "Detox" like this. Nothing ever concrete was discussed by Dre. Plus, at the end of the day, this is Snoops album and whether Dre likes it or not, Snoop can release it. I just think Snoop is trying to listen to Dre and take his direction as much as possible, but I doubt Snoop would shelve the album because dre isn't satisfied with it.

The album is on Aftermath so Dre has more say so than you think.

Oh, did not realize it was being released on Aftermath. Strange considering Snoop owns DR.

The years of dropping an official first single are over and like someone said, Snoop is a brand he doesn't need it. Matter of fact this album is a business move, it's basically the soundtrack to their Gin & Juice joint venture. Jimmy Iovinr KS the machine backing this. The album is a promotion took as this point.

Fully understand the skepticism but as others have said. Dre has not put this much airtime publicly into promoting or talking about an album without it at least having a plan to be released.

He’s shelved a lot of stuff but Detox was barely one mention a year and often not even from him. This time he’s been very specific on what stage he’s at and when he foresees it coming.

Let’s wait and see, as others said Snoop could well surprise drop it like Eminem did for a couple of his albums with no run up, no single etc. snoop and see already said they don’t care about the sales in one of the interviews

So the album features Jelly Roll (and I’m not talking the producer)?  Damn.  I mean, I appreciate Jell Roll’s come-up and all, but don’t need to hear him in a Snoop album.   Wtf
