Who said xzibit track is dope. Its wack. Horrible chorus. Ordinary beat.

Not only missionary, everythig dre drops or doesnt drop are ICU's fault. Dem Joinz has a heavy role in ICU unfortunately.

Dont forget Focus… he brings in the rock and vocal samples I read somewhere when compton dropped.

I like gorgeous and another part of me. They contain a certain funk and are more easy listening than compton. Stings vocals sound dope to me.

Still Dre is out of touch (maybe he damaged an essential part of his hearing testing these headphones). These mixes sound way too bright. If the sounds were tweaked a bit darker and heavier it would be more dope and more Dre like.
Probably Focus… did most of the mixing as well.

I do like the fact that these songs dont overly use the regular hiphop cursewords. These cursewords are played out.

Much better than Compton but Compton was already so highly mixed  . The majority will like the new Album  and Gorgeous and Another Part of me are not bad tracks

Name 3 tracks that released this year that is dope to you?

You know it’s subjective but curious where you set the bar

Lol at comparing xs tracks with snoops. Completlwy difderebt level of music and production.

Comparing production not raps!

You can even compare it to Eminem…. They all the same producers on Aftermath that’s where we share the comparison

Compton was very bright with silibant vocals.

Gorgeous is silibant all over the beat and vocals.

Another Part of Me is way better the only silibant part is Snoop's verse where he's rapping. But the beat bangs.

Who are we to critisize Dre's mixes? I don't know but I know when my ears hurt listening to something. Dre's beats always had highs but i feel like the vocals especially are way over the top in these tracks, especially when said vocals are so forward in them.

this is a good thing?

we are looking for a rap album, not a pop album

At Compton and Gorgeous my tweeters scratch, thought at Bernie Grundman Mastering the album or tracks is mastered again? the same was at the first stream at the Doggpound album sounded terrible, when it came out on cd it was also reissued on stream and sounded tuned and much better

That's one thing to understand though, you are probably part of the small pourcentage that want this from them. Like I've said previously Snoop Dogg is bigger than rap, 75% of the fan base appreciate the persona, the icon, 20% will acknowledge his impact in hip-hop and 5% are the die hard fans that are stuck in area that Snoop and Dre have move on from

I want to say that the tracks are better received in society like Xzibit and I get the feedback when I hear it in the car.

This right here. Snoop and Dre are making a mixed genre pop album apparently. Good for them. But when I buy an album by Snoop Dogg, that's not what I'm looking for. If I wanted to buy a pop album, I'd get something by an actual pop artist who can actually sing.  When I buy an album produced by Dr. Dre, I want to hear music like California Love or Natural Born Killaz or Always Into Something. I'm not buying Dre produced music to hear him fuck around and try to imitate other genres that he doesn't really know or understand.

X, by contrast, is making a straight up rap album because it what he's good at and he knows it.

Right! Maybe they are no longer for this forum or do not want to have anything to do with it anymore ,because they stand above it, otherwise they would have made the album differently, they now have more on the back when they appear in public or promote the Olympic Games

No one is saying it has to be early 90s G-Funk, but why does it have to be Dre fucking around with genres he know nothing about? It just sounds bland and uninteresting as a result. Example, I quite like Sting, but listening to Snoop try to sing alongside him is an absolute joke. Why would I waste my hard earned money supporting a sub par blend of hip hop/pop, when I could instead get a great pop album from someone who can actually sing and a great rap album from someone who is committed to lyrics and flow?

Ultimately though, Snoop and Dre can do whatever they want. It's a free world. But that works both ways. I'm free to listen, say "Nah," and just accept that BODR was the actual sequel to Doggystyle.

I just want a good hip hop album from Dre cause we know he had more to offer than what we’ve got so far!
