all these songs so far sounds like they could use an extra verse from snoop... i always had this feeling on a lot of his last albums. is it laziness? it's some sort of intro, a chorus, one verse and the chorus again... that's it. wasted a lot of good instrumentals trough the years imo.

Random question that might be related to this; How do you guys listen to music in general? Is it on the computer? Phone, Bluetooth system? Do you listen to them in the car?

I've played all 3 songs in different setting and devices. OUTTA DA BLUE isn't as bad in the right setting. It is more enjoyable in a loud setting with good speakers, or the car.

for the longest I used to listen to music on my computer, mp3s, FLACs but after it crashed like a year ago I found my old CD boombox and been listening to CDs ever since

anyway I preordered Missionary from Amazon so when I listen to it I'll be able to better tell how all the tracks sound

I played this in the car with the wife this morning.  She said it was a good song but thats all it is.  there is no peak or anything and i agree it sounds incomplete.  Almost like i am waiting for the beat drop to happen and it never does.

Russ wrote the song.

He wrote Sting's part. He also have some additional vocals. Rest is written by Sly Pyper.

Are you kidding me?  Bit of an overreaction here.  Not a fucking chance it’s his worst album.  There’s still a very good chance it will be his second best album.

I also believe it will be his biggest dissapointment.

As long as the last meal or no limit top dogg stands there, no album can beat them to be his 2nd best.

Hed seemed to be more upbeat on it after listening in sequence, fwiw.

Whoo Kid ran back Outta Da Blue a few times on his Shade 45 show... doing better than you'd think

The only thing I have found disappointing with these 3 songs is Snoop isn't credited as a writer on Gorgeous, or Another Part of Me.  I know he hasn't always written everything he's performed, but I think we all know he CAN write.  Snoop has turned into more of a performer/personality than an MC.

If Snoop did something like what Nas did with Hit Boy I think he could be regarded as a top tier MC again.  But Missionary is a different animal.  You can hear the money in the music lol.  Nothing 'gritty' about any of this.  It's all perfect and polished, which is something we haven't heard much in hip hop.  In no way is it 'bad' music, but it's out of the ordinary.

Snoop was regarded as a top tier MC? When? Great rapper but never ever heard that said about him.

Based on the songs released, I have a feeling this will be a huge let down.

They said several times it was a follow up to Doggystyle….hence the title Missionary

You keep talking international like it’s in different languages!! Maybe Pac should of made a rock album in German so it could be international GTFOH

Early/Mid 90's snoop was on top

glad someone mentioned Bush i feel like that LP is very underrated. one producer(s) (significant it may be the final project from The Neptunes as a duo) and has Snoop doing a variety of styles, most funk & pop sorta records. probably the best album he put out since BCT and the bar i'll judge Missionary against.

bush was actually credited to pharrell .. wit chad being credited as additional production only ….. not credited to neptunes
