A few months ago, most of you didn't even believe that the Missionary album would see the light of day. For you, it was the new Detox and blah, blah, blah. Now you're just criticizing the music. Are you serious? These artists work and don't give a fuck about your opinion.... They're too rich! Now how about just enjoying the music!? Everyone has the right to like it or hate it, but I don't understand why we're arguing about it! Just enjoy the mouvement... chuuuch!

There's nothing enjoyable about this.  Yes, i'm sure this music sounds absolutely fantastic as they are creating it in the studio.  No doubt i'd love to hear this in DRE's studio, i bet it sounds phenomenal, but the sum of everything is just bland.  We have two "decent" songs so far....Dre called it his Thriller album, so of the released tracks which are the counterparts on the Thriller album?  You cant call this "My Thriller" album with what has been released.   if they meant "Doggystyle" flipped, then yes this is exact opposite of the impact Doggystyle had so far.  We have not heard any legit hip hop tracks yet and i am hoping that is what is coming next.

Dr Dre or Snoop don't have to produce the music WE want to hear. They're creative people over 50 with nothing left to prove. So many legends have passed away or are no longer making music, we can count ourselves lucky to still have tracks from them in 2024! Like I said, just enjoy!

I agree they dont.  But they have proven they are much better than this.  I just have a hard time believing the music they are releasing now is better than what has been vaulted.  I know I am in the small minority, but i do care about what i hear from them.  It seems they have gotten away from what made them unique

That's an extremely accurate description of how I think Dre feel about his current music lol
Notice how this is the second time he says this about his new albums. The first time he said this was about Marsha's album and then you see the behind the scenes photos and you totally get why Dre feels that way. They got the whole orchestras in this bitch lol. So I totally get Dre being excited while working in these kinds of environment and feeling like it's the next level for him, compared to his previous recordings. So naturally he hypes these as "some of the best music he's ever done"

Snoop was always a personality with me. Never much of a mc. Kurupt is an mc mi 90s. He was top 5 mc at that time. Pqc bigie, nas, prodigy, kurupt. Snoop was always a character.

if you go by the true definition of MC then Snoop definitely was

now if you are talking lyricist then no he was never in the Biggie or Nas level

I finally listened to all three tracks. Profanity aside, they are all good records. I don't understand the hate.
2 Corinthians 6:8
By honour and dishonour, by evil report and good report: as deceivers, and yet true;

6:9
As unknown, and yet well known; as dying, and, behold, we live; as chastened, and not killed;

6:10
As sorrowful, yet alway rejoicing; as poor, yet making many rich; as having nothing, and yet possessing all things.

I'm with most on this album so far... many of us want some classics. We know Dre/Snoop can make some CLASSIC anthems. I often wonder if artists like Dre/Snoop just really don't care about their original sound anymore. Like others have said this is a monumental album to them. Tom Petty, Sting.... making music 30+... to them this is FIRE... sounds good.. good vibe in studio.. many on social media praising it... but I look at it like... if this is really a follow up to 'Doggystyle' I'd like to have some sort of tie-in to the album. Doggystyle was just unreal with the sequencing, mixing, tracks, etc. This Missionary follow-up album has been in the works for a bit. I really hoped Joel Cool (RIP) would have been commissioned to do the album cover. I mean how can this be a folow-up and you deviate from the artwork. Huge miss in my opinion. Maybe a special edition will drop with it but I doubt it!!!!

I honestly feel many artists now put out music to please some fans (hey we are still making music) and as a write-off. I'm guess most won't make the $$ back in album sales, streams, etc. Maybe merch but to me.... why not have done a Joe Cool spin on the album artwork to sell more shirts, hats, etc. The album cover to me is odd.

I bought the Ice Cube album. I like some tracks but just feel as an album there is no main story line in it. Its just an album name with odds and end tracks thrown together. Cube is prob like.. hey.. drop an album to please my fans... have a hit single... (biggest of his career in terms of charts) and its a write-off on the production, promotion, etc. I really wonder if Dre/Snoop even care. To them this is a 'Thriller' album but to us.. the original fans... its like naw..... this isn't what we wanted. Hell the Dre ETA track is something I play on repeat... it has the sound that I love. I bought Doggystyle on 11.23.1993 and have a pretty big collection of stuff that ties into the album.... but this, so far, isn't something I am intending to enjoy much. I hope I am wrong when it drops!

Oh well.. rant over.

Some of my Doggystyle collection (Snoop reshared it on 11.23.2023 via Instagram (video)). I've since added more items to it.

I still can't believe they went with Outta Da Blue as their big reunion single. This is legit the worst Snoop/Dre song ever lol

Love it when visuals matches the energy of the song 👏🏾👏🏾

Dre knows how to go about quality visuals.

The 10 mins mini movie might be like Eastsidaz Still Easty video, with 3/4 music videos for the songs on the album.

Isn't Missionary just Doggystyle flipped? 😁
