Interesting review/reaction from some people who are not Snoop fans and they went in thinking they were not going to like it...

I watched this reaction video earlier this morning.  It was cool watching them as the album went on, win them over.

Listened all the way through a couple more times. Beautiful project… again, it’s obvious that Dre’s team’s focus lately has been rebuilding or revitalizing old east coast beats.

Only thing I could of asked for is maybe 1-2 more thank you esque funky tracks, could replace the ones near the end. I also don’t love “outta da blue” at all…the rest, ooowwweeee
So much style back at it again

Got the cd version yesterday.  Interesting.  “Thank You” appears in the middle of the album on the streaming version and not on the cd at all.

I still don't get how people hate this album...

This album is touuuuugh...

I love this new production style from the ICU and snoop is rapping his ass off..

This is without a doubt the best snoop has sounded since doggystyle on an album.. I hope Dre does all his albums going forward..

And I hope Dre ignores all the criticism and drops his own project.

SMH....Just bought the CD from HMV - didn't think one of the best songs 'Thank You' would not be on this??

any idea why?

Dre was late to finish it… I am guessing it was going to be shelved until he begrudgingly played it at drink champs and everyone went nuts

Sticcy Situation
Thank You
Hard Knocks
Last Dance With Mary Jane
Now or Never

This project is soooo nice.

There's obviously no Still Dre, Next Episode, G Thang type of classic, but that wasn't a realistic expectation anyway.

Qobuz 24-Bit/44.1kHz FLAC is the best quality out for streaming service.

https://www.qobuz.com/ca-en/album/missionary-dr-dre-snoop-dogg/vklj0qg2pxisb

Try hdtracks instead. Qobuz is notorious for software bugs. You buy a song labelled 98kHz/24bit, it shows up in the downloader as 44.1kHz/24bit, and after downloading the metadata has it at 44.1kHz/16bit. Last time I checked, they had Missionary listed but you can't buy the album and only 14/16 songs are available for individual purchase while the remaining two say "album only." Pretty sure they have a bunch of chimpanzees working in the office masquerading as software engineers.

Then try getting in touch with anyone that has a working brain for a refund. Always use PayPal with them if you make a purchase so you can file a claim - it's the only way your money will ever see the light of day (but the process takes weeks). They're a massive headache. hdtracks is reliable, you get what you pay for, and their staff aren't braindead if issues arise, which they almost never do.

Also, WAV or AIFF are better options than FLAC with anything hi-res, especially if you have the hardware setup for decent sound.

on one level the rapping is the production, it's all one thing as far as performances go. so if Snoop sounds great vocally and he does Dre gets a lot of the credit.

Can't believe I'm saying this but I wish we had some Nate Dogg AI vocals (or unreleased) on here. Normally wouldn't condone something like that but you just know Nate would have loved to be a part of this man.

definitely tons of unreleased vocals still dyin to be used

last couple of snoop albums had some unreleased nate vocals that tbh put most missionary to shame

that's fair

but overall Dre's production is not on par with the last hip hop album he produced which was Compton

Lol. How? Hard knocks is better than whole compton album. Last dance, skyscrapers, gun n smoke, part of me, thank you,  fire, pressure, even georgous. Al 10s. On compton you have love for money, and all on me standouts, rest cant comapre to this.
This album is Amazing body of work. Next level production.
