This is why I'm waiting for my CD copy from Amazon before I listen to the album. Legit have only heard Gorgeous, Outta Da Blue, and Thank You so far. I'm avoiding spoilers.

cd version is fine and probably so is the 15 track version up on apple music.

but the 16 track version boy oh boy something went wrong there it's so hot it's borderline distorting.

you can compare the two versions and it's night and day. the one with less treble has more thump too, sounds much 'fuller' in the middle. the 'bad' version of Gorgeous actually overloaded my amp from excessive high frequencies.

and the people complaining about a lack of bass were right all along.

there’s a lot of idiots here who don’t understand music

“oh but what you complainings?! dr dre having mix mastering fantastic!!! if you change setting u losing dre magic touch for production master!!!!”

smh

This makes me feel better waiting for the CD version. They rushed Thank You on there at the last minute without quality control and fucced up the master. Just another embarrassing pick your poison scenario for the fans. You can choose the CD master which sounds fine but lacks Thank You, or the 16-tracc version with a fucced up master. :grumpy:
"Detox" is a myth -- Bigfoot, Loch Ness Monster, Area 51, Iraq having WMD, Detox...you get it now?  It was invented by the Aftermath marketing department to maintain the fans' attention.  Notice how everytime a new Aftermath album is ready to come out, they always mention Detox is next up?  Because they are using the invention of "Detox" as a way to market other albums.  The sooner you realize that Detox is NOT REAL, the sooner you'll feel liberated.  Oh yeah, f.u. Aftermath for fooling us fans.

Get the CD, download "Thank You" and call it a day.  I swear you guys are making it way harder than it needs to be.

Someday they might rerelease the CD with Thank You on it, then you'll have a collector's item.

Don't know if this has been posted but here are some instrumentals from the album:
2 Corinthians 6:8
By honour and dishonour, by evil report and good report: as deceivers, and yet true;

6:9
As unknown, and yet well known; as dying, and, behold, we live; as chastened, and not killed;

6:10
As sorrowful, yet alway rejoicing; as poor, yet making many rich; as having nothing, and yet possessing all things.

Dr. Dre really made bad choices! The direction for this album... the featurings... I hadn't listened to the singles, I didn't know anything about the album apart from "outta da blue" which had leaked... but what a disappointment this cd was... I saw the guy on this forum say that "Gorgeous" was a bad choice of single... in fact if I had heard Gorgeous before the album, I would certainly have thought the same thing... but in the end, on this CD there is no single.... there is ZERO banger! Gorgeous is certainly the funkiest sound on the album. Dr. Dre's productions are meh... Last Dance with Maryjane what is this shit? It's repressed Pop... Another part in me... Sting does a good job... but my god!!! who wants that on a Snoop and Dre album after 31 years? Snoop, Method Man's verse are the only good things on this album. People jerk off to the sound because it's Dr. Dre, if we had given them the CD without saying that it's Dr. Dre, no one would have recognized Dre's productions and everyone would have said yeah, it's not great. After having had Doggystyle, B Please, Just Dippin’, Buck em, Lay Low, Imagine, Boss Life... they give us this CD... what a waste. I don't blame Snoop at all, he followed Dre's direction, but damn, make a Snoop album produced entirely by Daz or Battlecat and you have a much better album than Missionary. By removing all these shitty featurings, you put in DPG, Eastsidaz, Danny Boy, October London, R.B.X, Soopafly, Lady Of Rage, Anderson .Paak and the album will already sound much better. The best thing about this album is certainly the 1st teaser with gorgeous in the background or the mini movie. But musically, the choruses... how rubbish are they? Even Thank You is boring...
this album has zero replay value apart from Gorgeous
Oh i Forgot, the 2nd part of Sticcy Situation is dope and this is what i was waitin for this album.
Missionary doesn't even make it into my top 10 Snoop studio albums. and if we add the welcome 2 da chuuch mixtapes, it's not even in Snoop's top 15
Missionary is it's a 2 out of 10 for me.  :grumpy:

 I prefer to go back to GNX, Still Easty, W.A.W.G, Man Down, Blue Lips, Soul Burger and the latest Daz.

I've actually grown to like Outta Da Blue when listening to the whole album. It seems to work when listening to the whole project.
The problem is with many of the tracks that it's not instantly catchy/easy to like for the casual listener, unlike Doggystyle where it was so easy for everyone (hip-hop and non hop-hop fans alike) to like instantly.
For me, it's like Missionary is Snoop's equivalent to Makaveli - quite difficult to casually listen to the album, not really for the clubs or car (exception for a couple of tracks). It's was more for listening to the earphones on the way to work, and listening to the album in one whole go, where as All Eyez on Me had music for different situations (clubs, car, etc) and you can quite easily listen to a couple of tracks on it's own.

What??? Put Makaveli and Missionary in the same discussion.. damn I must be too old! Missionary is not easy to listen to for Snoop and Dre fans, I agree because it's so disappointing! Songs like Another part of Me, Last Dance, Gunz N Smoke, Gorgeous are made for the general public! Jelly Roll, Tom Petty, Sting... isn’t that easy to access? 🤣 this cd is Snoop's "makaveli"... damn man you are really talking nonsense.
you can't listen to Hail Mary alone? To Live & Die In L.A? Toss it up? Me & My Girlfriend?

The album is expected to sell 36k first week. Well I guess that's more than I predicted (I was thinking 20-25k) and the biggest first week for Snoop since 2011.
