they're comparing streetz iz a mutha version with 2001 version

wow, yeah, I forgot Kurupt used the same song on two albums, smh

...in that case I agree the Streetz is a Mutha version was after Dre's polish so it's pretty much the same for all intents and purposes, the better comparison is to compare the Kuruption version of the track that Dre had nothing to do with

The crazy thing is that means the same song was used for THREE albums

...that was unusual in those days aside from Master P making a quick buck for using the same song on a soundtrack, then on a solo album, and then throwing it on a compilation, and then a greatest hits, lol

Kuruption! was totally mismanaged from the start

they released the Ask Yourself a Question/Ho's a Housewife Remix the same day as the album

I know that homie, but much of the lyrics and chorus is the same.  So it's the same song still used on 3 albums just a different version.

...Master P on the other hand did usually use the exact same version (if that's the point you are making).  He'd like have a song with him and Sons of Funk.  Something like "I Got the Hook Up."  He would put that joint on Sons of Funk album as a single, on the I got the Hookup soundtrack as a single, and then on top of all that he might even put in on one of his own albums, on a compilation somewhere, and on a greatest hits.

Like the banger "How You Do Dat Dere".

That joint ended up on numerous No Limit releases.

Same with "I'm Bout It". - made a quick buck by throwing it on different albums, solo, TRU, soundtracks, comps, greatest hits, made a st8 to video movie for it, lol

yeah the chorus on all 3 is the same and Kurupt's 3rd verse on the remixes is his opening verse on the Kuruption! version

Dre and Hittman were added to the remix and Kurupts 2nd verse was taken off

yeah man.. I certainly recalled it from forcing myself to listen through Kurupt many many times from fall through winter of 98.  I usually would skip that cut but it was very vivid in my mind, I even though it was just some filler, almost lile a skit.  Next thing I know Dre flipped that shit into a very solid album cut on 2001.  The genius of Dre.

Vintage Dr. Dre, taking some scraps from Kurupt and making it memorable -- he damn near had another "Ain't No Fun" but obvious not to that level, but in the ballpark.

Imagine what Dre could've done with a banger like "Make Some Noise" if he perfected it before it came out.  "This One's For You" also could have been a banger if properly mixed and mastered.  But I'd keep "We Can Freak It" and "Put That On Something" like they are -- those were the real standout certified bangers from the West disc !! (along with Ask Yourself done by Dre).  "Put That On Something" fuccin banged down the block when I was 16 rollin thru da hood!  Kurupt's lyrics were proper on that track !!

it would have been a classic album if Dre put this finishing touches on it...and if Dre was involved in an even larger capacity he would have forced Kurupt to can the East Coast disc and just release one album

btw my favorite track on there is Fresh...classic Death Row beat by Daz 8)

Agree with your premise, but "Can't Let That Slide" was wack as fucc and "Hoes a Housewife" was weak.

This are the only dope cuts on the West Disc:

1.  "This One's For You" 6.5 out of 10
2.  "Make Some Noise" 7 out of 10
3.  "Put that on Something" 9 out of 10 (BANGER!!)
5.  "We Can Freak It" 10 out of 10 (CLASSIC)
6.  "Fresh" 8 out of 10
7.  "C Walk" 8 out of 10 (CLASSIC since the dance blew up in the years that followed)
10. "That's Gangsta" 7 out of 10
11. "Another Day" 8 out of 10
12. "Ask Yourself" 10 out 10 (Flawless, Life-changing joint)

the lyrics were pretty comical on that one Cant Let That Slide

he's trying to diss Nas by calling him a little chip tooth MF yet he has his 15 year old brother on the track who fits the same description lol
