no doubt

I would go as far as to say Initiated is a better opening track than any of the Big 3 which I consider The Chronic, Doggystyle and Dogg Food

No not the gang bang initation opener...

I'm talking about one of the true Pac gems that was really left over and intended to be released even if Pac had lived — "Initiated" track 7 feat the OutlawZ

Classic lyrics and classic beat I even heard it bumping in a random club in Africa a couple years ago — shit still gets play

You've never listened to the east coast disc of Kuruption after all these years?  You're doing yourself a disservice.  There's good stuff on that disc too.

"The Life" is one of those great sentimental type of joints that 2pac really inspired nearly ever release to contain a token sentimental type of joint on every album.  Sort of like a dead homiez tribute track type of song or something along those lines.  And those joints were often the most listened to joints... I'm just gonna rattle some off top...

Kurupt "The Life" 10 out of 10
Daz "Only For You" and "Thank God For My Life"
Bad Azz "The Last Time" 10 out of 10
Slim Calhoun - "Timelock" and "Lil Buddy" and "Worldly Ways" 10 out of 10
Eastsidaz "Be Thankful" and "Life Goes On" 9.5 out of 10
2001 "the Message"
Eminem "Halie's Song" 10 of 10
D12 "Good Die Young" 9 out of 10
Fiend "Feel My Pain"
Master P "I Miss My Homiez"

These joints really had a way of rounding out an album.  I know ya'll remember these gems fitting in somewhere on nearly every release in the late 90's

ah ok the one that's also known as "Thug Pound" on some mixtapes

Kurupt set that one off with one of his GOAT opening verses

Absolutely!  In fact, when I was schooling Sccit for sleeping on the Eastcoast disc, that's the exact song I had in mind.

And I agree, every good album has a nice retrospective song towards the end. A few more for your list:

On My Way - Kurupt
Hopes And Dreams - Lil Ratchett fear Bad Azz and Lowlifes
Life Goes On - Mausburg

I liked 2 or 3 songs tops on the East Disc but they were absolute bangers

the one with Buckshot called Light Shit Up produced by Easy Mo Bee was hard as hell

the opening track Its A Set Up which may have been even harder

 :tupac:

I always thought Coolio was nice but not an elite MC lyrically

i guess I was wrong but in my defense being from NYC even though I loved West Coast music I was very selective and didn't listen to just anything

Maybe I've always been sleeping on this joint but if they gave it a music video — it's worth another look.

"Gimme What ya Got" was weak and didn't deserve a video
