Dre and Snoop "Drink Champs" Official Thread - FULL SHOW
« on: December 11, 2024, 04:22:27 AM »

I didn't see a thread for this yet so I went ahead and made it.  What ya'll think?  I'm still listening but would you believe the first things Nore talked about was a Fat Joe and Big Pun remake of "Deep Cover"?  And other then that just kissing their asses and all this clapping, "ya'll are legends" clap clap clap, blah blah blah, okay we get it.. then of course the revisionist history about East/West that they always loved each other and it was someone else's fault... Dre didn't even remember that he had done a track with Nore back in the Firm days so that was kid of cool and would have been funny for Nore to touch on that a bit more...

worst episode in history

Unfortunately this is the way nearly all Dre interviews seem to go these days.

-- Legend, legend, legend, oh my god, blah, blah

-- He'll mention some like classic artist from another genre like Stevie Wonder or Marvin Gaye or Quincy Jones and they'll be like "wow Dre that is so cool you are talking about another genre artist and not just gangsta rap, gee, wow you are so eclectic Dre"

-- Then some stupid question he's answered a million times like how he met Snoop or how he met 50 Cent or how NWA met up (which is ironic cause they actually put that in an album years ago, saying "same stupid shit, how ya'll meet"

-- Then future plans he'll say he's gonna do all this shit (that we know we'll never come out

-- he'll make some lame jokes or just comments not even intended to be jokes and they will all laugh like it's the funniest thing they've ever heard.

Unfortunately the masses who watch this crap are exactly the demographic for shit questions and interview styles. We need a Chuck D or someone with similar integrity to start doing 'proper' interviews with artists.

It's nice Dre gave them that much time but like you guys have already said, the questions with substance he doesnt answer. "why did you and snoop finally hook up now?" answer: "the music starts with a brotherhood" what?????????

really irked me how programmed he was to tell that same lie over and over about Thank You being "unfinished" - was really weird

Hip Hop journalism sucks ESPECIALLY when it comes to the legends. They never bring up anything real. The goofy fans even get quiet when you some some real ish like you suppose to be fake like the industry is. They worse than the mainstream media. This the same platform that apologized for Kanye West's interview while other platforms had him on saying the exact same things.

6:10
As sorrowful, yet alway rejoicing; as poor, yet making many rich; as having nothing, and yet possessing all things.

VLAD and ART do proper hip-hop interviews.  I mean, what's the standard?  The standard is probably the golden era of hip-hop journalism which really lasted all the way from early 90's Source magazine up until the G Unit Era when you could go to the magazine rack at Wal-mart and find everything from XXL to rap pages, Blaze, Vibe, MurderDogg, Scratch--MTV and BET also did proper hip-hop journalism in the golden era.

I'm just trying to give a little credit just to stay on the positive tip

Dre probably wouldn't agree to do the interview if it was the usual Drink Champs format

shame cause when Snoop was on by himself last time it was actually pretty dope

I agree with you and Malcy's take but he shouldn't even be on there. He just had health issues and the show is centered around drinking, smoking and asking real ish. If he doesn't drink, smoke or want to be asked certain questions, he doesn't need to be there. There are outlets for that. The show itself should have passed on doing it instead of compromising their brand and cheating the fans. That's journalist integrity.

Back in the day I had a blog and I was going to interview an up and coming artist for my blog, in text format... Or so I thought. The artist management ended up sending me a fully conducted interview, questions and answers. :thefuck: I know how fake this can get. I also did PR for an artist who wanted me to retract news that his team gave me to clean up the artist mess. Those types of things make you the journalist look bad when you participate in at and the fans are the ones who really lose out.
