Snoop no doubt had a bigger impact, but ain't no tellin' what 50 does in the future. He'll be big, no doubt, but I don't think he'll ever be Snoop's caliber impact wise.

Snoop no doubt. They can't even be compared. Snoop made en album for ten years ago when rap was still not mainstream, sold 800k copies the first week and has sold over 8 million copies at all(Heck, that's even more than The Eminem Show!!), and 50 Cent is selling slightly more the first week today where the market is all about hiphop. Plus, Doggystyle was so many fucking times better than Get Rich or Die Tryin. Snoop changed the U.S Pop culture for ever if you ask me, and 50 Cent is just another rapper.
And Snoop has had a career unlike any other rapper, he got six consecutive Platinum solo albums, two platinum albums with Tha Eastsidaz,he's definatly not stopping, in fact that after a decade on top of the game he is still expanding. I think he could be the rapper with most platinum albums of all time, I mean, the only one who has the same numbers as him right now is Ice Cube? I'm not sure, but I think. Both have 8 Platinum albums(group albums included) And Snoop is gon' last longer than Cube, altough I'd like to have Cube on top too.

What's funny is that 14 year old white boys and girls are running around talking about "have You Heard That new artist Snoop Dogg?". He's expanding his listeners too, imagine how big a westcoast album from him could be? The pop groupies who bought Paid Tha Cost would buy it, the westcoast heads who once listened to Snoop would buy it. It could be big.

No matter how wack music he drops,  I'd put Snoop above most other rappers like; 50 Cent, Eminem, Nelly, Nas, Jay Z. Snoop's one of hiphop's biggest legends.

Let's change topic instead, is Doggystyle the biggest hip hop album of all time?

This is a no-brainer, the answer is so obviously Snoop in 93.

And anyone would think that 50 Cent invented the mixtape or some shit, damn mixtapes have been an integeral part of the New York hiphop scene for years, it's just that the west now seems to be realising their use.

snoop dogg by far.  50 hasn't influenced rap, he just influenced a lot of boy band faggot groupie kids that it is time for them to jump on his bandwagon.  And the only reason really is because eminem helped him out a lot, and he got some good club beats from dre.

word

Most hip-hop is now keyboard driven, because the majority of hip-hop workstations have loops and patches that enable somebody with marginal skills to put tracks together,...

Unfortunately, most hip-hop artists gravitated towards the path of least resistance by relying on these pre-set patches. As a result, electric guitar and real musicians became devalued, and a lot of hip-hop now sounds the same.
