Dr. Dre-What's Next??
« on: September 26, 2003, 12:52:45 PM »
Rap Legend Scarface once described Dre as the Terminator in that he always seems to rebuild himself and start over.  I just read on another site that there has been no response from Aftermath over The Source article and it seems that Mel-Man has really left Aftermath and there may be some beef involved.  Say what you want but Mel played a major part in Dre's comeback with Aftermath and a lot of talent went with him..Add the fact that I'm not sure if Eminem even needs Dre anymore since his production skills have improved so much.  While this time he will not be starting a  new label, it will take a lot of work to replace all the behind the scenes talent that has left.  I believe that somehow he will be successful.  What do you think?????

Note to  eS El Presidente:
I'm still searching for a topic on this board that you have started recently.  I thought this was a WESTCOAST FORUM.  Maybe you need to visit the Jay Z or Ja Rule forum instead.  Now for those that are feeling this topic, Dre has commited to some awesome  projects in the near future (Eve, Cube, The Game, Stat Quo, Eminem, Dre himself).  While I don't think Em will be as stupid as Snoop and bite the hand that has fed him (that's another topic), Shady Records projects will keep him busy.  Will Mike Elizondo become the next Mel-Man and assist Dre with all of these projects since we know that Dre likes company in the studio, or has Aftermath seen it's best days???

I think Dre will just continue on Cruise Control and ride out of here on that.  I'm not positive he'll ever release another solo album... and to tell the truth, I'm not sure he can change up again, if he does release a solo I dont' think it will be that different than what he's doing now.  He's already changed the face of music 3 or 4 times, he's earned his stripes, so it really doesn't matter.  I think he'll just continue producing songs here and there, stay consistant, and grow more and more like Q every day.
