This will sound very racist, but I don't care. I notice that mainly white people are fans of the more "hardcore" styled rappers. This board for example, the majority of the gangsta rap fans on here are white. Not saying the people here, but in general, most white people are trying to learn about the streets and street life through the music, since 9 out of 10 times they've never experienced it.

i said nothing about ja rules lyrics other than they were crap...i said i like his music because he puts emotion into his voice. something that rarely happens in hip hop. its pretty tough to put emotion into lyrics dude.
and if you want to know what i think about good lyricism maybe you should learn my actual taste in music first.
and as for comparisons between 50 and pac, i don't think that 50 and pac should ever be mentioned in the same sentence. i think 50 is garbage....

Quote from: Luke on January 06, 2004, 10:14:23 PMand if you want to know what i think about good lyricism maybe you should learn my actual taste in music first.actually.. i can care lesspreventing proud sgv from tryin to 'save' his son again as he amusingly put it in that other thread, I gotta underline that I was just talkin about lyrics + what else could be a reason for being a 'fan' of a lyrically average/weak artist, I still think there's other reaons not to listen to Ja while listening to 50, so no, I'm not doing the same with 50/Ja.. just pointing out that somebody who listens to Ja shouldn't speak on people who listen to artists without 'good lyricism'
'When did I ever say I was a gangsta rapper? Is Frank Sinatra a gansta singer? Is Steven Seagal a gansta actor? What is that? That's such a limited term. Marlon Brando ia not a gangsta actor, he's an actor. Axl Rose and them are not gangsta rock and rollers, they're rock and rollers. So I'm a rapper, this is what I do, I'm an artist. And I rap about the oppressed taking back their place. I rap about fighting back. To me, my lyrics and my verses are about struggling and overcoming, you know? Not gangstas. I don't rap about sitting up eating shrimp and shit. I rap about fighting back.' - Tupac Shakur
i said "Enjoy Good Lyricsm"...not only listen to good lyricism

To seperate the two is like saying theres a difference between German and whites. yeah, not all whites are German, but Germans are still white. Not all Latinos are Mexican, in LA it's hard to tell though, but Mexicans are Latinos. OK, enough of that.

I know you talking about people that belong to a country, but people think of a certain nation as a ethnicity. Honestly, I know you might think different, but don't most people outside the U.S. think of Americans being white. So whatever.
