My most anticipated game in years. Haven't really noticed too much hype on this forum for it. This will be the greatest multiplayer game ever, my expectations are so high, i can't possible articulate it. Anybody else feenin for this game?

I guarantee you it will be incredible.  Halo 1 had the best multiplayer EVER. I've beaten the campaign dozens of time, never get tired of it.  They've put nearly 3 YEARS of work into this game.  You're going to be able to go through the campaign via co-op (i.e. with a friend) over xbox live.  This is great considering me and my friends all graduated college, but we'll still be able to play together.  I've said before that if you don't own an xbox, it is worth buying just to play HALO. I was a die hard ps2 until a year and a half ago, when a friend of mine let me borrow his xbox so he could let me see what he had been talking about.  I haven't touched my ps2 since.

I find it amazing how you can harshly criticize a very well-revered, well-respected, and well-known game.  You don't like this kind of game, that we all know...but just b/c you THINK it's shit doesn't MAKE it shit.  You got to Gamespot, IGN, Gamespy, people on G4, and many other game experts, and they all hail Halo as one of, if not THEE, greatest first person shooter EVER.  Halo 2 is improving upon the original Halo in nearly all aspects, which will make it THEE greatest first person shooter.  Doom III?  Half Life 2?  No...HALO 2.

I don't agree with Jerome in that Halo had the best multiplayer ever.  It's multiplayer was very strong, no doubt about that (hey, 16 people Capture the Flag on Blood Gulch with all vehicles is an extremely fun game!).  I believe Halo 2 will be the best multiplayer ever, just b/c of how much work and effort Bungie is putting into the game.  After working on it for around 2 1/2 years, and cramming in all that detail, its physically and tangibly impossible that the game will suck.

Rampant, you don't like multiplayer games or first person shooters, and thats your loss...your missing out on fun gaming.

Halo was an ok game I dont see what all the hype is aobut Im not sayin its shit but I am saying it didnt live up to my expectations MASSIVELY overhyped

I think Halo was a good game, but I don't think what's so awesome about it. My biggest beef with it is the level design in the single player game. First all the levels repeat themselves - the same hallway after another. Then on the next level it's a different hallway that's repeated until the next level. And guess what? Towards the end you get to go to those same hallways again, this time only backwards! Some real imagination there... And the multiplayer was cool too, but nothing special. It worked, but didn't bring anything, anything, new to the table.

Mabe one day I'll download Halo 2 from the net when I don't have anything else to play. Right now I see there are two games that are gonna be way better and and are anticipated at least as much as Halo 2, if not more. GTA: San Andreas and Half-Life 2. Doom 3 was just eye candy in the long run with some decent soundwork in places.

But ain't no telling which is better after they're all out though... But if I was a betting man, I'd put money on Half-Life 2.

yeah i never understood the big deal about halo's multi player... like the man above me said, it didn't bring anything new. you had everyone as the same character, just a different color, the weapons were pretty much your standard weapons of FPS's, other games have had vehicles and so on.....

by the way i like how the most clever rebuttal of his statement is to call him a nerd. you sound like a true intellectual. not that I give a fuck either way.  why don't you back up the statement as to why you think the game is shit?

by the way, I predict that Halo 2 is going to shatter all previous records for first week sales, and will be the BEST FPS game ever. 

Whoever was talking about some parts being repetitive, i agree with you.  IMO, the worst stage on the game is the library - same thing over and over.  however the reason for that was when they were putting out halo 1, they were given a street date that had to be met (nobody new it was going to be the smash that it was), and they had to rush to finish it up.  Bungie(the maker of the game) is assuredly not going to make that same mistake twice.

and whoever said it brought nothing new to the table, halo brought several things.  One of the biggest was the use of the vehicles in the campaign and multiplayer.  I loved how i could go through the campaign with a friend and I could drive the warthog while he gunned.  It was really innovative in many ways. I'd love to go on but I have to go to work.
