Saw DJ QUIK last night in Mexico

yeah.  he came on a little after midnight.  it was my first time ever seeing him perform.  I loved every second of it.  I was way up close too. he did about 3 or 4 NEW songs.  they were bangin.  so I take it he IS workin on new shit for any album (maybe)??  he had this one cat with him that was new.  he did a song of his. His name was Shawn Anthony.  http://www.shawn-anthony.com/  he was aight.  

at the end quik tossed his red button shirt out to the crowd.  then he put on a LA hat and was reppin that shit hard for a minnute.  threw that out to the crowd as well and then he took off his shoes and tossed those out to us too. classic exit.

  the only thing that sucked is that it was super short.  he only performed for about 40 mins.  and the dj was havin some problems workin his tables so it didn't go so smoothly.  quik was even clownin him a lil bit.  it was all in fun though.  and the Dj didn't have some of the songs quik wanted to do.  LOL.  it was pretty half ass, for a concert that is.  BUT, it was my first time ever seeing him in person and I was in awe to just be in his presence and that made it epic for me.  lol yes I'm a HUGE quik fan.

The concert was all over Wild 96.1, and they were giving away tickets, but my job hunt left we with little time to actually call. Besides, I like it better when they do things like stump the DJ to get tickets, 'cause it's more than just caller 6 or some shit like that, it's like, everyone has a chance, all you gotta do is earn it... lol.

yeah it was a blast.  and that new guy was not Amir.  this dude was black. it was one of his proteges.  I take it quik might be all over his album if one ever drops.

OK.  i just checked out engelwoods Quik site and he had a link to this Shawn Anthoney guy's website.

well I just visted it and I recondize him.  he was the dude that was performing with Quik down in rosarito.  and the song that's playin on his web site is one of the joints they busted out.  the beat was done by quik if I remember.
