LOS ANGELES, California (Reuters) -- Flamboyant funk musician Rick James had nine drugs in his system when he died suddenly in August, including cocaine, methamphetamine, valium and vicodin, according to a coroner's report Thursday

This is no surprise. Like he said cocaine is a helluva drug.

Unfortunately, most hip-hop artists gravitated towards the path of least resistance by relying on these pre-set patches. As a result, electric guitar and real musicians became devalued, and a lot of hip-hop now sounds the same.

He looked hella fucked up on the BET awards. His lips were twitchin and shit. You just knew he was back on that dope.  It's a damn shame too, I really loved Rick's music.

About 3 or 4 months ago, they played on the radio here in town a clip from a concert he had just done, they played a clip of him coming out on stage going "Oh, and to the little honey in the back room, in case you didn't know...... Im' RICK JAMES, BITCH!" and they were going on about how he was still acting like a fool after all these years.

Drugs can kill. Damnit, drugs have taken so many good people in the industry. Dave Williams from Drowning Pool, DJ Screw, Rick James, the lead singer of INXS, etc.
