IMO Daz has only one classic album Dogg Food.

Daz is definitely underrated though especially for his work from '93-'96. Every song during that time period was classic that he produced. Right now he still got it in him but he's hit or miss for me.

Daz is a real West Coast legend, yeah. His only problem is that he didnt left Death Row in time, and now he's paying for it. I mean Snoop & Dre didnt want him in the Up In Smoke Tour, that was the perfect opportunity for him to get the recognition he deserved. Now he's paying for it, and to get people's attention he needs to diss his own wife. Kinda sad. But yeah, his albums rarely disappoint me.

His only classic is Dogg Food. C'mon, RR&GB is a good album, but not even near a classic. Same for RAW, Dillinger & Young Gotti is a very average album.

even Dogg Food isnt a certified classic.. maybe classic in the context of DPG.. BUT NOT in the context of the rap game.

dont get me wrong.. i like the album, but it sure aint a classic.

RR&GB doesnt match up to Dogg Food..

most of his DPG output has been weak low budget shit with recycled verses with the occasional hot track.

how can you fall for Daz putting on the same verses on 3 consecutive albums over different beats? come on!

Dillinger & Young Gotti and RAW are the best since he left Death Row. (and both were partially recorded in that environment/had tracks rerecorded after)

he puts maybe 1 or 2 really good tracks on each DPG release and the rest is FILLER... it should be the other way around.. (in an ideal world none)

I don't think those 4 albums are classics. For me, "Dogg Food" is classic. The rest rate from dope to crap. He puts out too much music, and too much weak tracks in consequence.

He's a dope artist, nevertheless, and I have high expectations for "So so gangsta".

From another thread (that "post death row" one)

Kurupt (he had a dope double-album, and a classic album after he leave Death Row)

RUBBISH

dope double album? Kuruption was WEAK

Streetz is a Mutha was tight.. but NOT classic
Space Boogie was nearly as good.. but fell a bit short of streetz

muthafuckas be throwin the word classic around without knowing what that shit means..

hell yeah an album can be tight.. but it aint no classic!!

I'll agree with Overseer here... People really are abusing the term 'classic'. Classics are rare - Daz might be good but he's got no real classics. Classics have influence on the entire game, I can't recall Daz ever really doing that.

to me Dogg Food is a perfect album. top notch lyrics. top notch beats. top notch hooks. everything is right abuot it.

RR&GB i can bump all the way thru without skipping a track, same with RAW. and it's been that way since they dropped, which makes an album classic to me. dillinger& young gotti too.

i do not pretend that they didn't get weaker with time, Dilli & Gotti is weaker than Dogg Food, no doubt about that. It's still a classic album to me though..

ok i see what ya'll sayin, i guess they're personal classics then.. but i don't agree with the system that EVERYBODY has to say something is classic for it to be classic... If an album is classic to me, why can't i call it a classic? why do i need others opinions to say if somethin is classic to me? those albums have stood the test of time and are classics to me...

aswell as produced classics for 2 Pac, Snoop Dogg, etc.

I really dont think the Ambitions As A Ridah beat is the shit.. Pac made it what it is..

Pac coulda rapped over my moms singing (she's awful beleive me..) and banging spoons on a table and it'd still be called classic..

to me... put BattleCat, Too Short and Daz together and you've got something classic!
