Thanks homies.

Both songs really open up musically.  (Reckless And Party People) They really did a good job of re-mastering the effects.. the DJ scratch’s and cuts.  Etc.  Chris The Glove Taylor (who is the guy on the turn tables) used to work with Dr. Dre as an Aftermath staff producer.  His biggest contribution to Dres work, of course, was 1992’s The Chronic which sold over 6 million copies and launched the career of Snoop Doggy Dogg.  Chris played most of the keyboards on that album.  FYI.

Back then, in 1985, he was just an ILL ass DJ with an original style.  He wasn’t much of a producer.  Africa Islam from New (I believe he's from NY..) York programmed the techno beat and handled must of the drum machine programming.

No one could scratch like Chris “The Glove.”  Really listen to the lyrics in Reckless.  It’s all about Ice T giving props to his legendary DJ.  If you’re interested in his recent work, Here is a link to some of his recent production credits.

The whole purpose behind this thread is to show the homies the evolution of G-Rap which also gave birth to one of LA hottest DJ'z Chris "The Glove" Taylor.  His scratching was unmatched back then.  And it was all over a techno type of beat.  Historical.

Ice-T was my favorite rapper from '88-'91 along with LL Cool J and Ice Cube. His O.G. Original Gangster album is one of the West Coast's best and most underrated classics. "Mind Over Matter" is my favorite Ice-T song. That shit is pure classic. Ice-T and Too $hort are the West Coast Godfathers. Respect is due.

I really like Ice-T's albums "Power", "The Iceberg/Freedom Of Speech...Just Watch What You Say" and "O.G. Original Gangster". The track "Colors" is off the hook too - Daz sampled it for "Bustaz".

I agree with you on G Rap.. except that he rep's the East.. and this album gets me hyped cuz its all about the Evolution of Westcoast G-Rap.  We all know the East started this hip hop shit.
