Add people like sly boogy to that list as well.I'm beginning to think jay rock is never coming out either.I just don't get it.why invest all the money in an artist and then shelve it?makes little sense to me

We got B-Real dropping next week, Pr1me dropped a CRAZY project for free, Juice's mixtape/street album imo is cool. There is plenty of good music out west.

I guess I just grow tired of threads like these. I really don't know what kind of "resurgence" people want musically out here. And it seems like the better a west coast album is out here the less attention people pay it. If it is not Game, Spider, or DPG or Dre people don't bother with it. If people have a open mind to music out here I would suggest checking out dubcnn. And that is not a shameless plug.  ;D They have dropped some QUALITY ALBUMS from Indef, Pr1me, Bishop Lamont, Young De and soooooo many others. The future out here is bright imo.

I get what you're saying and thats cool but what 'the listeners' are saying is that they are sick of people being delayed again and again and those are artists that they did try and get in and support... you cant support an artist if they never drop an album... after a while you give up (Yeap just waitin for a reference to Crook after that comment  )

Its fine to be able to D/l a track here and there an say this artist is cool and then you here they workin on an album and its this date then that date then no date.... Thats the problem I have....

But the solution that you and D Nice seem to have is go and listen to someone else and not support that artist which you would have gone out and copped had they actually released an album?

Where did I say that? I still purchase albums. If it is quality material I will buy it. From wherever. My point is that there ARE west coast artists that drop quality material, free or for sale, that people overlook. I am just tired of this the coast is dead talk just because a few people on the net's favorite artists are not putting a album out. There is more to the west then just a handful of artists that continuously get talked about on the net.

Ditto!

I do wanna see a G Malone, Crooked I, Jay Rock, etc. not so much for the sake of the coast, but for the sake of good music.

This coastal dominance mentality has to go. Just give me quality music and I'll cop your shit when it hits the shelves.

problem is too many of these west coast artists think their goin blow up like 50 off of mixtapes and think these majors goin put in the proper promo to back them and when the major fucks up these artists fall back and start working on the album again. These LA dudes are mostly the ones that do that...honestly jus straight up lazy depending on a major, they need get on that bay mentality n just put their own shit out indie style....a lot of these rappers are wastin money n time just by giving a lot of this shit out for free, instead of giving a street album for free they should be working on puttin out a retail album.Fuck a mixtape and just put out a album already

Yeah the when is Spider, or No Country For Old Men and others threads don't do shit for the coast. It helps, but one person or group putting a album out is still not going to do anything for the coast. It is a collective effort and there are MANY west coast artists that consistently put good material out that get overlooked all the time.

So what are you really waiting for?
Crooked,Bishop,Glasses etc. I assume.....
Their "real" album will probably be some watered down shit,so  :P :P :P :P

Me personally all the delays and artists getting dropped and etc makes me really not anticipate albums so much anymore. And those 3 that you mentioned are prime examples. February is basically done and Glasses is supposed to drop in March right? Not going to happen. For every month you don't get 50, Dre or Em is another month past you will be no closer to a Bishop album. Crooked I am looking foward to a group project from him more than his solo work because well I won't get started on that.

The smartest thing Bishop did was drop the mixtapes.  If shit goes south that's all proof of his work ethic, his talent, and a portion of his work he did at aftermath.  Plus he fed his fans and possibly intrigued new ones.

I think the label dont know what to do with artist. If u dont sound like whats on the radio they push your album back until your in style again. If dre dropped detox next week every new west rapper would have a abum out within a month. They just keep signing bullshit bubblegum rappers but since sells are geting lower and lower i think there starting to get the picture. But i believe 2010 is the return of the west personally. Jay rock is on omarion's new single so i think he label might put hm out after this  blows up. Glasses is suppose to  on detox so im sure when it drop the label will try to capitilize off of it and put glasses out. As far as nipsey his buzz is huge an m sure the labels are going to put out his album soon. Jeezy said 211's album s dropping soon and alot of labels are trying to sign roccett since he's left jeezy. So it looks like the rebirth ofthe west coast might just happen. I also hope lil eazy-e comes out with something and i hopethe brick boyz get signed soon.  just hope the new west dont turn into the new east lol. I know yall remember a few years ago when they were talking about the new east and how the east coast was back. they had artist like papoose, saigon, littles, uncle murder, and alot more and nobody blew up lol.

I think alot of acts out here are trying to and are having a hard time creating and capitalizing on a buzz. So instead of putting material out, the labels and artists are sitting on the music. Whether this is good or bad is up for debate but definitely from a time perspective out here it seems every year that passes the last was the year of the "new west".
