topics like these r worthless! how can u argue bout pacs greatness???? he is legendary.. no rapper can match his music.. he had it all, u can go on 4 ever if u list his attributes.. most of these topics r for teenage hiphop followers who werent around when pac hit the scene n all they know is that eminem is the best lyricist.. WTF!!! get tha fuck outta here, how can u compare a fake ass rapper who aims his disses at women (britney, mariah, christina) n compare him to PAC!! r u fukn outta yo mind?? u need 2 slap yoself.. pac was everythin in 1 his lyrics were tight n he spoke real shit!!!

But this "apples and oranges" approach is the big problem. No, Eminem can't do what Pac does anymore than Pac would be able to do what Em does. The problem with the comparison is you only look at Pac's unique characteristics and not those of the other artist you're comparing him with. Obviously, Eminem isn't a suitable replacement for Tupac in the same way that Usher or Justin Timberlake isn't a suitable one for Michael Jackson. It seems like hip-hop fans in particular have trouble with diversity within their own genre in that in order for someone to be in the same class as Pac, they have to do everything he did either as good or better. It's not a worthwhile debate because people who are iconic are always gonna be viewed in a different way than most of the artists who follow them.

i'd like to add pac's music has insane replay value.  it's also nice to be able to just let an album ride straight through without having to skip any tracks like i end up doing with other artists' albums.

I have to leave his albums for a while before I listen to them again. I don't listen to him regularly. Me Against The World is the only album with replay value for me.

But it also works to his advantage in some areas. A lot of rappers' catalogs would probably appear stronger if you looked exclusively at the material they made in the 90's. Another complaint I have with the groupies is they seem to think he would have transcended a "transistional" period. "Everything would still sound like 1995 if Pac never died." Pac's history can be based more subjectively because anything he would have done after the shooting is tied up in hypothetical situations. Fans can create whatever fantasy scenerio they choose. How differently would we remember Cube if he got gunned down after "Bow Down" or Snoop if he died before he went to No Limit? Dogg Pound and Outlawz were going strong for many years themselves.

Overrated as who says ?  the notorious big fans ?  2 Pac is underrated . he was something special , not just a rapper but way more than that . when it comes to rap he has songs that you can feel and with passion period .

my fav Pac songs

Pain - off the above the rim soundtrack
Got my mind made up
So Many tears
Keep ya head up
Me against the world
Hold ya head
Pour out a little liqour
Death around the corner
Ambitiionz az a ridah
Picture me rollin
Blasphemy
Dear mama
Cali Luv - Album version not the mad max radio version
When We Ride

too many to name

Cant Deny it Pac was ridah , you dont wanna fucc with him " all the other rappers you think are real are pretend "

The influence 2pac had on the rap game is unparalled. When you consider the person who hes most compared to as the best of all time with is big and then take into account how much pac influenced bigs music.

2pac was the man but everybody know that he wasnt that gangsta he claimed to be and he wasnt on the "crooked i"-"rakim"-level mc-wise but
he had MOST powerful and meaningful songs..he could reach you and make u think.plus 95% of his beats were always on point.
in otha words..yes he was a good rapper but maybe little bit overrated.

im still his #1 fan.

People will say shit like this not only about 'Pac but about other great musicians, actors, athlets etc

At first I was hella mad when I've heard this nonsense but I've learned to just ignore that shit - I ain't gonna argue with some dumb fuck who thinks Lil' Gay is better than 'Pac, T-Fag is better than Nate Dogg or with some stupid busta who says that MJ was just some average basketball player.. that don't make sense.

Me Against The World, All Eyez On Me, Makaveli, 2Pacalypse Now >>> insert any other four albums made by one artist.
AmeriKKKa's Most Wanted, Death Certificate, Predator, Lethal Injection

beat me to it! Ice Cubes Discography >>> 2pacs Discography

Your crazy , 2 Pac discography is much better than Cubes , Ice Cubes music sounds outdated when it comes to the stuff he made in the early 90's . and im a Cube fan . his albums are 2nd to Pacs

Not to mention, cube killed pac on his on shit. On a song off Strictly 4 My Niggaz ( can't think of the name of the song but it also features Ice T) Cube clearly out shine everyone on the song. Really it's hard to determine a goat in hip hop because it's art, and art is based on a person's perception not fact. They're people that think Pac is the best, Cube, Jay, Biggie, hell there may be someone out there that thinks Souldja Boy is the shit. It's all opinion.

he was dope, but no greatest of all time.

who wuz better then Pac, Gucci Mane?

for me; Ice Cube, Scarface...

I believe Cube and face were great, easily two of the greatest and realest of all time. They juss weren't able to cross the same boundaries that Pac in the ability to reach multiple ppl from all backgrounds

yeah he was dope but there are rappers that are would take his GOAT crown IMO
that dont mean pac is/was wack jus others are/were better

but anyway pac was more for the camera and lettin the world know of how things were vs bein more about the muzik IMO

Theres no doubt Pac's music puts all the new artists of todays music to shame, but I peronally think he's overrated. He definitely aint the GOAT as many people think.

same here...
he got some dope shit, but he's too much repetive
damn u still havent logged off...ur hurting everyone with all this wack shit u drop, it hurts more then getting the swine flu
