how much did Doggystyle sell?

im checkin out the numbers and i see that No Way Out and Country Grammer are both  like 7 platinum, same with 2001

and im thinking, how much did Doggstyle sell? cuz that has to be up there in the top5 or sumthing, its the most popular album of all time

i know the last number thrown around was 5 million, its in the Death Row greatest hits album booklet, but that album came out 97, and doggystyle's numbers wasnt updated years before that

im thinking this motherfucker HAS to be diamond...
it still sells today!!!

I think Doggystyle sold about 4-5 million... but that's just what I think, not official, peace.

we no for sure atleast 5x platnium,  when they had snoops behind tha music on vh1 they said it was up 8x

I'm not sure what the exact figures are.....but does Doggystyle still hold the record for most gangsta rap albums sold within a week?

gangsta yeah but most album sale in one week , dmx beat him and then eminem went platinum the first week and  that made him the person who sold the most in one week

Here are a couple of links that kinda explain the whole RIAA and Soundscan rating scale.  But basically its like this.  Soundscan records the number of ALBUMS SHIPPED to retailers.  RIAA records the actual number of units sold.  So basically, RIAA ratings are the most accurate (spelling???)

Anyway, RIAA.com has a database that represents units sold in America.  These (If I am correct..) do not represent world wide sales.  It lists Doggystyle as 4 Mil sold in the US (rounded, of course)

That shits outdated homie. Look at how long ago it was certified. It says it was certified 4 Million in 05/31/94. Damn that was 8 years ago so fa sho Snoop sold at least 8 million.

hey slick, i dont think dmx beat his numbers

Flesh of my flesh.... sold 667,000 first week
And then there was X....sold 750,000 first week
Great Depression ....sold 400,000 first week

uum, Snoop set the record for highest first week sales ever, by any artists, when Doggystyle was released in 1993, it sold 1 million in the first week, since then Britney Spears, N SYNC, Backstreet Boys, Limp Bizkit and Eminem have each cracked the 1 million units sold mark in the first week

to my knowledge no hip hop album besides Marshall Mathers LP
and Doggystyle ever cracked the 1 million first week mark


and jay ay babee, where did u get that 15 million number from??

It's an estimate - Doggystyle is at least 8 in the States, it was HUGE here so it's at least 2 here, then think of Germany, Australia, Canada etc it will have easily hit 15 worldwide
