Well okay, everybody knows he fell off big after 8mile. We don't have to repeat that over and over.

But, what bothers me is when people say he always raps about the same shit and that they get tired of his subject matter.
News flash: many rappers tend to talk about the same range of topics over and over. it's called style. the only reason it might be more obvious with eminem is because he has exclusive topics that nobody else has. I thought that was a good thing, but somehow to most of you it isnt. you think it sucks that he talks about his daughter repeatedly, or about how much critics in the media piss him off, or about his hard childhood or something? well, other rappers rap about how bright their grills shine, how many guns they bust and how many shots they took, how awesome they are, how many groupies they fuck, how many chains they rock, how they driving around the corners in their lowriders, how much weed they smoke, how it's on piru, how they crippin, how they rob liquor stores, how they drink 40s, etc etc. But somehow, when you bring that played-out stuff up over and over, it's all good.

em subject matter is extremely limited, unless he has something new to talk about or ready to come at cats form a different angle, but a dope one, he better put the mic down, but i prefer his rapping over his garbage production.............now speaking about the cat who said rappers always speak the same shit.......not entirely true, people come with albums from different angles, all the greats, nas, snoop, jigga etc can put out album yearly and still come out with different shit, yeah these niggaz have a certain style they rap wth but they stay fresh, em beens tale since the eminem show, yea he had a lil comeback on 8 mile cd but the em hella washed up, he spits a few nice verses on the re up, but overall, nigga needs to stop focusing on his beats and focus on himself, his startin to look like 50's girlfriend

Eminem is washed up nowadays. Who ever thought one of the sickest, most creative, innovative rappers with the wildest imagination could end up being just another lame ass son of a bitch? I know I didn't think that. 8mile was the last good thing eminem ever did. Fuck eminem

What Eminem needs to do is take a leaf out of Jay-Z's book and admit that he's a grown man.

I don't really like Jay's new album that much at all, but I respect what he's tried to do with tracks like 'Do U Wanna Ride', '30 Something', 'Beach Chair' etc - he's an adult and he's trying to record music that embraces that rather than trying to hold on to his youth.

Eminem has done the complete opposite. For every 'Toy Soldiers' there's a 'Puke'. As a 27 year old hip-hop head, why would I want to hear a man older than me rap about being sick and shitting??

I still think Em has it in him to record a classic. When I read that XXL interview about how he wrote 'Toy Soldiers' to the beat of the marching band track, I was amazed anyone puts so much effort into structuring their rhymes. he needs to get that hunger back again.

Naw, Em ain't dead just yet... Check out the songs from his new album "No Apologies" (lyrical masterpiece like his Slim Shady EP days) and the new video he's got "You Don't Know", Eminem is still the biggest heavywieght in the game.  Also, Cashis comes really tight on the track, Loyd Banks comes tight but Loyd Banks is kind of washed up.

I bought the Re-up because of the hook I heard on ' you don't know' Then I listen to other shit on the album and I was like WTF!! This is shit. No matter what anyone says. Eminem was the best  rapper around within the last 7 years. Then he raps about "jimmy crack corn". Not only that, but he sounds like damn big bird in that song. What the fuck is he thinking. You mean, we waited 3 yrs for this shit. I always thought that if Game came at aftermath and G-unit, Em would smash em. Now, Game would make mince meat out of em. Sure.. he's rich, he's not hungry, and he's gotten older. But he strays from using that too his advantage. Fuck eminem now.

He gave us some gems like Slim Shady LP and Marshall Mathers LP to listen to. He won't tarnish those records ever IMO, but he seriously needs to get a good fucking idea before he makes another song again, much less a whole record.

And the beats - funnily enough, his best beats came out when he was just starting professionally with the shit. Some say he's got dope drums but, on the real, he shouldn't make beats. Or, at least not put 'em out unless they're those good Em beats that come maybe once a year. (Though I gotta say that on Obie's record his shit was decent, IMO).

That's a pretty good assessment.  I do think he was at the top of his game on "You Don't Know" and "No Apologies", but like you said that 'Jimmy Crack Corn' type stuff is corny as hell.  Stuff like that should never make a real album, it reminds me of Encore when he did that "Meanie/Weanie" and burp and farting and all of that is a sign he's ran out of things to say.

btw, the album is worth getting for hip-hop heads because Cashis is tight, and Dre hooked up some good beats for Stat Quo and so the album is worth buying in my opinion.
