I've gave this a few listens over the last couple of days and Rage is good but I'm not sure the track fits her (beat, feature vocals)
Does anyone know why she could never get traction?
She's a woman, so that reduces her chances of success in hip hop, which is male dominated. Even then, when you think of the successful female rappers, most of them used sex appeal to attract attention, which Robin doesn't have, so that's a further strike against her. Finally, she had bad timing. Dr. Dre never produced an album for her on Death Row, and by the time she was ready to have a solo career, she didn't have anybody to go to bat for her. I also think you could argue that on a technical level she's a great rapper, but she's more of a guest artist than a feature artist given her lack of versatility in emotional range and subject matter. So I think it's for all those reasons.
This is cool, she is more successful as an actress anyway.
