 Bay Area legend Too Short is slated to release his new album "Still Blowin" on April 6th. The digital-only release will come out on his Dangerous Music imprint. You can expect guest appearances from Aftermath's Earl Hayes, Baby of Cash Money, Silk E, and others. Production was handled by Lil' Jon, Jazze Pha and Too Short himself.

 Ever since he dropped his first mixtape "Who is Yung Brodee", which spawned the regional hit "Local Celebrity", Yung Brodee has been trying to get his name up. But his two features on Nipsey Hussle's "Bullets Ain't Got No Names Volume 3" ("CEO" and "Walk In My Shoes") would be his first introduction to mainstream Hip-Hop audiences in early 2009. "Nipsey gave me my first major look and he has given me a lot of advice about the music industry" Brodee said.
Up next is his debut album "100 Percent Authentic", which he is recording for a first quarter release. This album will be his introduction to the Hip-Hop world and establish his sound that does not rely on just rapping about gang life, lo lo's or weed.

 Mac Shawn 100 is in full preperation for his upcoming new album, "Tha Bigg Fish". The Bay Area veteran will release two singles on March 9, "And You Do Know That" and "Party Don't Stop" featuring Daz Dillinger, available at all digital retailers, including iTunes, Rhapsody, Amazon, and Mobile Carriers.
"And You Do Know That" is now in rotation at Radio, and the popular "Party Don't Stop", a collaboration with Daz Dillinger of Tha Dogg Pound, has already received radio play at WCSU-FM, WDSU-FM, WMCC-FM, and K-MEL.

 Cypress Hill return April 6th with Rise Up (Priority/EMI), an album whose thrilling mix of deep grooves and hard riffs are amplified by guest appearances from Rage Against The Machine/Street Sweeper Social Club guitarist Tom Morello, Linkin Park vocalist Mike Shinoda, System of a Down guitarist/vocalist Daron Malakian, singer-songwriter Marc Anthony, rapper Pitbull, Everlast, Young De, Evidence, The Alchemist and comic legends Cheech & Chong.

In order to finance this project, Ras Kass is using a new web platform called KickStarter, which enables the public to back a project that they support.
If you choose to support this project with any amount of money you can get your hands on some great rewards. Depending on how much you support the project with, your reward can range from one of the Limited Edition CDs signed by Ras Kass, to an Ultra Limited Edition set of lyrics to "Nature of the Threat" hand-written by Ras Kass.

 A few months ago, news surfaced that MC Eiht and DJ Premier will link up for a full length project. Things are getting concrete now as more information and music is starting to leak. The album will be called "Which Way Is West" and it will be released this summer through Premo's Year Round Records.
According to the DJ Premier Blog, Marco Polo is getting in to produce some beats, and that NYGz will be featured on the album. It will be interesting to see how Eiht will sound with a heavily East Coast influenced sound, but if their previous collaboration "Ain't Nuttin' Changed (Remix)" with Blaq Poet & Young Maylay is an indication of what's to come, then we're more than good.
Check out the album sampler below (none of the songs are produced by DJ Premier). This sounds like they're definitely going in the right direction with this one...

 TiRon leaked the first song off his upcoming mixtape "Mustard", the follow up to "Ketchup". The track is called "For Your Smile" and it was produced by DJ Dahi, who did the song "Quitter" on "Ketchup" and is also producing on the upcoming Pac Div project.
You can expect a couple surprise appearances on "Mustard", including this one producer people like to call one of the best in the industry, if not thee best right now. Word? We're not giving this one away.

Throwback Bonus: If you're getting into Fashawn's music just now, check out one of the first write-ups that we did on him a few years ago. The Fresno native (Fashawn the Phenom!) dropped a mixtape in 2007 called "The Grizzly City 2", which was the follow up to Volume 1 released in 2006. It's amazing to see what this cat turned into in such a short amount of time. He went from being a Fresno rookie to performing in packed venues in Europe, and he's still got a long career ahead of him.

It seems like we haven't heard from Kokane in ages, but going through the Dubcnn news archives will prove you wrong. Kokane's name has always been around and brought up for features, most recently on Snoop Dogg's "Malice N Wonderland" album. Not to mention his countless guest appearances throughout his career: Koka has lent his vocals to some of Hip-Hop's most acclaimed projects and has been featured on over 35 million records sold.
Solo projects is a different story, but that is about to change fast because the legendary Kokane is back on the solo tip! He is set to release his new album called "Gimme Mine" on May 25 through his own Bud E Boy Records in conjunction with Bonzi/Fontana.
Dubcnn has the first single called "Twilight Zone" and it sets the right tone for the album. The song was produced by Tha Chill of Compton’s Most Wanted (dude's been all over the place lately).

 If you've been following Mitchy Slick's "He's Everywhere" video series, you already know what this is about. If not, it's about time you jump on the bandwagon because he's already 16 episodes deep!
The latest one features scenes from the Strong Arm Steady video shoot for their new track "Make Me Feel" featuring & produced by Jelly Roll from the upcoming "Arms & Hammers" album. There's also footage of the Talib Kweli / Strong Arm Steady show at the Key Club back in September with special cameos from DJ Quik, J.Wells, Tash and a whole bunch of other people. And a whole bunch of random footage in between.
Seeing this episode reminds me of my own footage that I filmed that same night outside of the Key Club. You can get a sneak peek from Mitchy's angle at about 9 minutes into the video. I will liberate the footage next week here on Dubcnn. Contains some more funny footage of DJ Quik & SAS fam fooling around.

The Guitar Man hasn’t relegated himself to only the west coast, as his credits stretch to the east coast and the dirty south as well. Stan put in work with LL Cool J on 14 Shots to the Dome, T.I.’s King, Mystikal’s Unpredictable and Ludacris’ Red Light District to name a few. Not one to rest on his laurels and get pigeon-holed, you can find his work covering R&B acts like K-Ci & JoJo, Destiny’s Child, Monica, Brian McKnight and so many others.

 El Prez drops his first solo project since 2008 and he brought the best out for "Animal Style!". The Inglewood rapper cooked up some food for thought on his latest effort: "Animal Style!" derived from the "In-N-Out" burger joint that originated in SoCal and refers to a special way they prepare the burger and fries that only the locals and savvy customers even knew existed, on a "secret" menu.
Production on the 13 track deep project was handled by Ro Blvd, Chris “THX” Goodman, Dae One, SOV and others. Guest appearances include Diz Gibran, Freddie Gibbs, Donwill, Shawn Chrystopher and more.
