The mixtape was jam packed with exactly what you'd expect; funked-out basslines and rich chord arrangements and features including Clinton Wayne, BlackWest, Reality Jonez, Harold Blue, Lady Deuce, Rev, Young Sau and King Tee over production from XL Middleton as well as J Schon, Docc Free, Sic Sense, Doggmaster and xXx Productions.
The Hedonistic Mixtape was always planned to be a teaser of XL's "The Hedonistic Album" which was released in March via iTunes and from which we dropped the video for Low Key High Note in our last update.

 Last month we announced that Dubcnn favourite Demrick aka Young De was set to follow up last years acclaimed Neva LOOK Back! EP and #HeadsUp projects with a new EP titled "All The Wrong Things."
Over recent months the focus has been on new music like the Jim Jonsin & Danny Morris produced She's A Freak [watch the video] as well as the DJ Fingaz, Bunson and Beaker Beats produced Money & Weed, his Acapella Series Video while on tour with Xzibit in Australia, a FreeStyle at the Cypress Hill Smokeout Pre-Party and a video from the #HeadsUp mixtape; BurnOut.
In April we turned our attention back to the Neva LOOK Back! EP that has already given us tracks including Ready To Go alongside Xzibit and Brevi as well as What's Good and the What's Good?! Remix featuring Brevi and Cliqou Nico - as we dropped the Nic Delikat directed video for Aint Saying Nothing.
In the update that announced the "All The Wrong Things" EP was to be a collaborative effort between Young De and The Makerz, the Production duo consisting of Nigel Starr and Runway Star who is responsible for producing the multi-platinum hit, "Teach Me How to Dougie." We also dropped off the first single from EP - a club record Drink More featuring singer/songwriter Jay-R Reed (formerly from the group 3rd Storee).
Today we are back with the video to another record on the EP entitled "Bitty In My Bed" where De and The Makerz teamed up with director Nic Delikat to bring you
the perfect summertime record and music video. The clip is set in beautiful Long Beach, CA. where a woman wakes up to find her man has left her alone in his lavish condo to spend the day until his return. Little does she know, her man has another erotic surprise in store for her...check it below!

 A week ago we reminded you that the release of the long awaited Slaugherhouse debut album - "welcome to: Our House" - on Eminem's Shady Records was said to be quickly approaching! In that same update the lyrical quartet - Crooked I, Joe Budden, Joell Ortiz and Royce Da 5'9 dropped the video to My Life featuring Cee-Lo Green.
Today we've just received the official album cover - shown - along with word that "welcome to: Our House" will be released on August 28th 2012 and will be executive produced by Eminem.
The next offering from the LP will be the Mr. Porter produced "Throw It Away" featuring Swizz Beatz that will debut nationwide this weekend and will be available Monday, July 2nd exclusively at iTunes.

 At the end of May we announced that on July 10th Treacherous Records will release a free compilation album that will be available to be streamed as well as on iTunes for you to support.
The project, entitled "The Mint Room" - covers shown, will feature their artists including Crooked I, K-Young, One-2 & Horseshoe Gang alongside a host of Westcoast talent such as Fashawan, Ab-Soul, Schoolboy Q, El Prez, Jay Rock and more.
The production is handled mostly by their in-house producers Komplex and Tabu and in that last update we brought you the first sample from "The Mint Room" called Back In The Days with Jay Rock & K-Young delivering over a Komplex instrumental.
Today we have the second leak from the eagerly awaited compilation album. "Born Go Getta" features Fashawn, Kobe, El Prez, and Kenny Siegal from Horseshoe Gang over another Komplex instrumental - listen below.

 Every once a while you get an album that takes you by surprise - which is what happened when I checked out the new Bpos album "Pos Tapes - The Album", which was released on iTunes yesterday. I was not familiar with the Bay Area quartet before, but my research showed me that they've been grinding for a minute.
"Pos Tapes - The Album" is the group's second studio album, following up on 2010's "The Upside", combining the greatest tracks off their "Pos Tapes" mixtape trilogy. Features include Z-Man and Pep Love

 Last month Cool Nutz was back on Dubcnn for the first time since 2007 when we had Cool Nutz and Luni Coleone on Dubcnn for this Exclusive Interview to discuss their first collaborative effort, "Every Single Day," which featured the single That Doe featuring and produced by Bosko.
Since then the Portland MC - whose career spans more than 2 decades over 9 solo albums - has featured on countless releases and his long awaited 10th solo album, "The Cook Up," dropped back in August via his Jus Family Records.

"Know God" was written on a flight to London, as Cool Nutz was prepping to tour Europe; "I was inspired by recent events in my life, where I was looking for direction with certain decisions that needed to be made. The track brought out the words, and while I was sitting on the plane it felt like God was telling me to write this song."
For the song's feature Nutz knew he needed someone who could lay something special on the a track and so Mistah FAB was the perfect addition; "Being good friends with FAB, I was aware of the loss of his mother and how painful that was for him, I knew he would be able to come up with something that would be perfect,"

 Last year Strong Arm Steady dropped the "Arms & Hammers" project and we dropped media including the Game featured Trunk Music [plus the Original Version which featured Phil The Agony], the video for Make Me Feel featuring Jelly Roll, the Too Short featured video for On Point as well as the full version of that Terrace Martin produced single On Point before dropping the DJ Khalil produced Klack or Get Klacked.
In the leadup to the album we also caught up with Strong Arm Steady for an exclusive interview and dropped Smokin and Drinkin.
Then in April this year the group disappointed fans with news that their upcoming LP "Stereotype" wasn't ready for release but at the same time blew fans away with the release of an incredible 7-track free-release of unreleased gems!  My good friend OG Cuicide just sent over this video to me and I felt the need to share it with our viewers. As some of you might know, OG Cuicide gets his name from real life - he is a suicide survivor after a shot himself in the head at the age of 22.
In this clip, Cuicide connected with one of the OG's of Hip-Hop management, Steve Lobel, and they speak about suicide awareness and adress the young people out there who might be going through a rough patch or hard times, not knowing what to do.
The second part of the video shows Cuicide in his 93.5 K-Day interview with the good folks from makeitrain.tv (shout out to Roscoe Umali!). So take a few minutes out of your day to watch something positive:

 The legendary Hieroglyphics Imperium recently to announced the Hiero Imperium Summer Tour 2012. The tour kicks off at the House Of Blues inSan Diego, California, on July 19th and runs a full month with 16 stops, including a number of festival performances, before winding down on August 18th at the Country Saloonin Las Vegas, Nevada. The tour will feature performances by Souls of Mischief, Pep Love andCasual plus some very special guests.
Already, 2012 has been one of Hiero’s most active years in recent memory. Individually, Hiero has seen a steady string of solo releases from the crew, including Casual’s He Still Think He Raw, Pep Love’s Rigmarole, Phesto Dee’s Background Check, Tajai’s Machine Language, and Opio’sVulture’s Wisdom Vol. 2, not to mention some new crew material.
And so, while Hiero is excited to perform all their fan-favorite classics, they’re also looking forward to performing their new material. “I’m looking forward to doing the new material the most, with the new albums from Pep, Casual, Opio, Phesto, and me,” notes Tajai, adding, “Plus, new Hiero material!”
The tour, which kicks off in July and runs through August, makes 16 stops along the way, including dates in California, Washington, Idaho, Montana, Colorado, Nevada, and more, including a special hometown performance for Souls Of Mischief. “I’m excited to rock the hometown Art And Soul Festival,” remarks Tajai. “Oakland, USA!”

 Earlier this month Bay Area veteran Laroo (Tha Hard Hitta) was back in Dubcnn with the single Blankin' alongside his Sick Wid It Records president E-40 and label mate Cousin Fik.
Laroo and Turf Talk had dropped their collaboration album "Sick-Wid-It: Block Ops" back in April of this year that featured the singles Money 2 Blow and Trust No One with The Jacka & Symba.
Today Laroo is back on Dubcnn this time with a new video featuring J-Banks and directed by Ginorocks for a track called "Roll The Dice" - watch it below.

 A Dubcnn Forum recently posted a reminder of a track we dropped exclusively back in 2007 that we just had to resurrect to start off your week!
Almost 5 years ago to the day (June 30, 2007) we dropped this update; Eastwood, The Game, Jay Rock & Meech Wells Combine where longtime fan-favourite Eastwood was building up to his long awaited debut album from which we'd already dropped tracks including Pimp Talk featuring Too Short, Whips featuring Jazze Pha and the solo cut Freeze.
The end of June update was to bring you the planned Meech Wells & Skwirm of the Soul Mechanix produced single entitled "West Really" featuring Compton's own The Game who was then riding the success of his sophomore album "Doctors Advocate," and Watts' prodigy Jay Rock who was gearing up to his Warner Bros debut album "Follow Me Home" due for release in September - that LP actually hit shelves via TDE last year on July 26, 2011.

 If this actually happens, then my faith in Aftermath Entertainment might be restored. The homie Kendrick Lamar stopped by Power 106 today to announce the official release date for his highly anticipated major label debut "Good Kid In A Mad City". The date is October 2nd, which means that in a little more than 3 months, Kendrick might be the first new artist since Game in 2005 to come out up under Dr. Dre's Aftermath Entertainment.

 It seems like MC Eiht's upcoming solo album "Which Way Iz West" has been in the works for years and after several pushbacks, I had more or less given up hope on this release - though what Eiht had played me from the album last year in France sounded very promising.
Today, the homie Eiht reached out and sent DubCNN a brand new leak off the album - so maybe it is going to drop after all! The Work Of Mart/Blue Stamp Music release has no official release date, but we can let you hear a brand new song, "Where We Go".
This record was produced by Brenk Sinatra from Austria, who's been working closely with Eiht. As you might remember, DJ Premier is going to executive produce "Which Way Iz West", and he also took over the mixing duties of "Where We Go". Check it out below:

 West Coast vet D-Shot of the legendary group The Click is gearing up to release a new solo album called "Ghetto" on July 31st 2012 via his Shot Records imprint. The younger brother of E-40 hasn't released a solo project since 2009 and is eager to jump back in the game as an artist.
"Ghetto" is set to feature guest appearances from E-40, B-Legit, C-Bo, The Jacka, J Minixx, Matt Blaque, J. Banks among others. The first single off the album is called "I'm Ghetto" and features another West Coast legend who's dropping his album soon, C-Bo.

 Earlier this year - while wrapping up his upcoming solo album "Champagne and Styrofoam Cups" - Fashawn dropped the Deluxe Edition of last year's critically acclaimed mixtape Higher Learning Vol. 2. featuring J Cole, Tony Williams, GLC, Gilbere Forte and more via iTunes and Amazon.

 Since his 1988 debut album "Act a Fool" King T has been a favourite amongst west coast fans and acclaimed by the Hip-Hop World as a pioneer and respected MC. Throughout the next decade he dropped hugely successful projects "At Your Own Risk," "Tha Triflin' Album" and "IV Life as well as mentoring Tha Alkaholiks and the extended Likwit Crew including Xzibit.
King T went on to sign with Dr. Dre and his then emerging Aftermath Entertainment imprint with plans to release a solo LP, however after 7 years he had only released a handful of singles and featured on "Dr. Dre Presents the Aftermath" and "2001."
Having agreed a release from Aftermath, Tee went on to independently release his Aftermath album, "Thy Kingdom Come" and over the last 10 years has sporadically appeared on albums, mixtapes and singles yet without releasing a solo project.
Over the last two years we have been teased with some solo tracks said to be from an upcoming mixtape or album including Pushin Tha Line with Young Maylay and Tha Krown produced by Amplified and featuring Dresta & MC Eiht.
In the last six months rumour of a mixtape have been rife and having featured on Polish MC Roach' album with Kokane for LA 2 Tricity and then on the E-A Ski single Off The Radar it was only a matter of time until Tee was back on Dubcnn.
That day was a little over a month ago when we dropped Pus-Say featuring Xzibit, Butch Cassidy and Mr. Silky Slimm that was said to be from an upcoming mixtape entitled "Triflin."
Today we are back with the second new leak from the "Triflin" mixtape entitled "Do U Rememba Me." The track features MC Eiht, Big 2 Daboy and Yung Gold over a Seige Monstracity instrumental - listen below!

 The Bay Area's own Renz Julian has been a regular on Dubcnn since his 2007 release Legal Crack and last year we stepped it up with an Exclusive Video Interview in June as well as dropping his Alphabet Hustle in conjunction with the Demolition Men in July.
The project - which until then was available on iTunes and all digital retailers - spawned videos for Pop N Lock Pt. 2, Mustang Girl, the title track Alphabet Hustle and Day In The Life with Bay Area favorite J-Stalin which featured on Coast 2 Coast Mixtape Vol. 192 hosted by N.O.R.E with the video gathering heavy rotation on regional cable video shows across the US.
A little over a month ago Renz announced via Dubcnn hat he was working on a new album entitled "Thug Scholarship" which is due out next month via Field of Dreamz Ent./Empire Distribution and we dropped off the self-produced first sample entitled Vitamin D. Life On Mute was released on Dubcnn in conjunction with Soul Vintage in December having spent the months leading up to the project dropping media including Listen produced by Malcolm Harvest along with its music video, the DJ Ophax produced record Above It All, the single Tried featuring Art Barz and Lou Urias - and its music video - and finally If I Could featuring Ghost and produced by Chris Reed.

 All you squares better take heed! This summer, Hip-Hop's most notorious pimp Suga Free will be teaming up with his protege, fellow Pomona representative Pimpin' Young to release a double albums filled with game and wisdom: "Thunder & Lightning". With almost 15 years of experience in the rap game and even more than that as a pimp, Suga Free felt that the time had come for him to bring forward one of his long time comrades, Pomona Pimpin' Young.
Pimpin' Young comes from an infamous family, as he is the the godson of Fillmore Slim, the grandson of the Preacher Man and the son of Chocolate The Pimp. He will be familiar to many as one third of the group Pomona City Ridaz, with whom he has released two solo albums, and as the producer of several adult movies, such as "Daddy's Side Of The Closet", but with "Thunder & Lightning", the world will finally get a proper introduction to Mr. Young.
The history of Suga Free and Pimpin' Young is interesting to say the least: "Suga Free, Kokane, Suga Shane Mosley and myself all came up from elementary school together. Me and Suga Free came up from the dark alleys of gangbanging and made our way into this way of life that everybody else likes to call pimping", Young describes their journey.
"Thunder & Lightning", which is set for a July 10th release, will be jam packed with humorous rhymes from Free and Young, who trade verses back to back, but they brought some of their comrades along with them: Twista, Bizzy Bone, Audio Push, LaToiya Williams, Kokane, Pomona City Ridaz, Mr. Cali Slim all appear on the album.
When asked to describe the sound of the album, Pimpin' Young puts it as follows: "We're gonna bring that humor back from Street Gospel, we're gonna bring that understanding from Daddy's Side Of The Closet and we're gonna bring that new game generation. We don't care too much about the squares who don't care about us. This game is for those who really need it at this specific time in life and we're going to give it to them. It ain't going to be force fed either."

 And another one! Scoe has been relentless with the new music these past weeks. While he's wrapping up his upcoming solo album "Tha Influence" for a tentative September release, it looks like we will be getting a free mixtape for Scodie Mac in July to warm up the fans.

 Earlier this year Orange County MC J. King was back on Dubcnn with news that his long awaited "Next To Bat" album was nearly ready.
J. King first appeared in 2009 with singles including All Ive Ever Known with Crooked I, Money Motivated with Sav Sinatra and the J Steez produced Get To My Head alongside Kali.
In late 2011 he dropped On The Grind featuring Glasses Malone, Ariano & Medusa over another J Steez production as well as We Hustle that featured Adriano & C4mula.
That material was soon followed up with the single Back On The Atlas produced by Soul Mechanix and featuring cuts by LD of Technicali Sound and within weeks a video for Back On The Atlas was also released.
In February 2012 he was back with I'm On It featuring P. Dot over another J Steez production and hoped to release the album before the summer.
 We are delighted to announce that "Next To Bat" - via J Steez' Beat Hustle Entertainment - is now available on iTunes and features 16 tracks including features from Crooked I, Glasses Malone, C4mula, Ariano, Cakeboi Sav, Neeze, Kadillak Kaz and more. Production is handled by J Steez, LD aka LDonTheCut, Skwirm of Soul Mechanix and Kajmir.

 It's hard to believe its been over 2 years since we introduced you to the up-and-coming Downtown LA based group FM, also known as Far East Movement in this Dubcnn Exclusive Interview.
Since then the guys have gone global and today we are proud to present an artist aligned to that scene alongside Far East Movement and Stampede Management; Yultron. Yultron is a refreshingly diverse artist residing in the notorious "Sin City" that is Las Vegas. His music blends Hip-Hop with alternative rock melodies resulting in some unique records.
Now working alongside Transparent Agency, he is working on releasing an EP later this month - a prelude to a planned full LP - and today released a video for the first record "Summer Life."
"Summer Life" - which you can watch below is helmed by rising director Daniel Park (Far East Movement, Snoop Dogg) and is his take on the classic summer ode. The songs hook draws on Yultron's love for familiar favorites, delivered with his own style and edge. He's teamed up with Compton's own YG - who is currently riding the wave of success from his own 4HunnidDegreez project - and the pair trade sly verses over a nostalgic instrumental!

 22-year-old Richmond, CA native IamSu! - the up and coming rapper, producer, songwriter — has been building his buzz hugely over the last year and a little over a month ago dropped his incredible KILT mixtape on Dubcnn.com.
The talented youngster produced, penned the hook, and provided a scene stealing 16 for fellow Bay Area newcomer LoveRance’s smash-hit single "Up" last year. On The Miseducation Of Iamsu!, which he released in December 2011 he was described as having the confidence of fellow Cali rapper Dom Kennedy and the smooth delivery of Nipsey Hussle.
Although Su! shouldered much of the production on Miseducation, he handed the duties for HBKJoe Beat off to HBK affiliate HBKJoe, who laced Su! with a lazy, saxphone-sampling beat that perfectly complements the low-key, playful video, which was directed by Chris Simmons.
IamSu! also featured on the smash E-40 hit Function with Problem and YG before dropping his Cancelled Plans single from the KILT mixtape.
 KILT - which contains production from Su!'s crew, The Invasion, Trackademicks, Jay Ant, and The Starting Six as well as features including Erk Tha Jerk, Berner, Problem, E-40, Jay Ant, Hollywood Keefy, HBK Gang, Cylde Carson and more - has been hugely well received, including gaining a nod from SPIN as their Rap Release Of The Week.
Today Su! has released the tape's latest visual, for the track "2 Milli" which is directed by fellow HBK member Chito Floriano, was shot in Su!'s native Richmond, California, neighborhood and cuts between performance shots of Su!, surrounded by friends, and young kids as they play in the neighborhood. "The theme of the video reflects lost childhood, and how prevalent it is for people where I'm from. In Richmond, you're exposed to violence, drugs, and sex at such a young age – it forces you to grow up fast," explained Su!

 Last year L.A. prodigy Blu appeared at Paid Dues alongside Exile and Fashawn [Blu Performs New Song w/ Fashawn & Exile @ Paid Dues 2011 Video] before taking time to speak to us about his upcoming album "NoYork!" in this exclusive Interview.
Then he was back dropping Doin' Something, a posse cut which saw Blu, Pac Div, U-N-I, J*DaVeY, TiRon and Aymomari all on one song.
Later in the year he was back, not with "NoYork!," but under an adopted an alter-ego B for his latest interim project "Jesus." That release - which is in stores now, and can be bought via Amazon and iTunes and features memorable collaborations with the likes of Alchemist, Madlib, Planet Asia, and Hezekiah - spawned the Madlib produced title track Jesus and the accompanying music video released in early 2012.
Within weeks of that LP Blu was back with another new release under Nature Sounds, entitled "Open" that saw Blu showcase his beats more than his mic skills as he produced every track including the single Avenge Of The Cheap alongside frequent collaborator Sene and the acclaimed Steel Remains (Raw)
Today we are back with the news that Blu & Exile are back in unison for a new album "Give Me My Flowers While I Can Still Smell Them" to be released on September 4th via Dirty Science / Fat Beats. Although you may have caught the pre-album that Blu leaked late 2011, this official release is newly mixed and mastered, with added instrumentation, guest features and new songs never heard on the initial leak!

 We are getting closer to Six Reasons "80's Baby" - the follow up to the 2008 Pipe Dreams and last years Do Not Pass Go Do Not Collect $200 from the Watts representer.
Over the last 12 months Six Reasons has brought us footage of him and The Game LIVE in Arizona at The Venue Scottsdale as well as dropping the video to his latest record Raindance featuring Too Short and a Behind The Scenes look of that shoot. He followed that up with the video for Shotgun featuring Constantine before dropping the single Runnin' For President as well as a music video earlier this year.
In recent weeks he's also dropped a video for I Need A Cape featuring Prophet that will appear on the "80's Baby" project and was at SXSW last month, which culminated with a performance on the Vibe House stage alongside hip-hop heavyweights, such as Snoop Dogg, Timbaland and Nipsey Hussle - a journey we brought you visually with six Reasons "The Road to SXSW 2012", followed by Keep It 100 and Silly Arguments (Feat. Choir Boi) featuring Choir Boi over a production by Starr Lab.
In recent weeks alone we've dropped Michael Myers from "80's Baby", this Behind The Bars video showing the creative process involved in making the song plus Attitude featuring LeMarvin, Black Rosary and its Music Video and most recently Whip’n It.
 Today Six Reasons is back with another new record, this time featuring Johnny G entitled "Pinky Swear," which is dedicated to Six’s two daughters tackling the subject of fatherhood and comes just in time for Father's Day - listen below.

 The Venice, CA artist Azad Right dropped his first single last year on Dubcnn called Spiderwebs and accompanying Music Video before dropping the acclaimed six track debut EP A Piece Of Mine in mid 2011. He followed that up with the Dubcnn Exclusive Interview in September 2011 before releasing his full length project The Time Is Right.
Already in 2012 we've had two new singles entitled Better Days and Growing Apart, the "no hooks" record It's All Right over the "Intro" instrumental by The XX, the Old School record and most recently Intuition produced by Sy.ic.
