 Game Update: Dre & Snoop / Mixtape Tomorrow / Jay-Z Diss - By : Rud - July 31, 2011
 You could hear it coming couldn't you? You could sense it was imminent and over the past week he made it clear the time for talking was now! Game is set to fully ignite the campaign trail towards the long awaited release of "The R.E.D. Album" on August 23rd by releasing a brand new mixtape, his first since the turn of the year and the acclaimed two-disc mixtape Purp & Patron and the expected Hangover follow up days later.
Tomorrow, August 1st, Game will release "HoodMorning [No Typo] [Candy Coronas]" for free download on Dubcnn.
The mixtape has been heavily discussed this past week as we have seen a flurry of new music and video from the ever-busy MC. We have been keeping quiet on Game this week building up to this update on the day before "HoodMorning [No Typo] [Candy Coronas]" drops!
So, what new music can you expect tomorrow? The cover of the new mixtape can be seen within this update and as you can see notes "Featuring the Street Single 'Uncle Otis' 2 million downloads and counting..." and for those of you that have been living under a rock this week we have the track "Uncle Otis" - a well publicized "Jay-Z Diss" that dropped earlier this week - for you to check out below.

 "HoodMorning [No Typo] [Candy Coronas]" will be available tomorrow right here on Dubcnn and as expected is the official kick-start leading to the release of "The R.E.D. Album" on August 23rd. In typical Game style he has this week released not one, not two, but three new snippets from his album. These aren't just any old snippets, Game has gone all out - a solo cut produced by Cool & Dre, a video with Chris Brown and...wait for it...a long awaited reunion record with Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg.

 An artist that has consistantly improved and evolved over his early years in the industy is Compton representer Brian James (FKA Wing).
The Galaxy West Entertainment MC has featured on Dubcnn regularly (check the archives) over the years, noteably with his Eat Or Be Eaten mixtape in 2008 and then Eat Or Be Eaten Vol. 2 with production from Chris Reed aka Blacc, DJ Ophax, Malcolm Harvest and Brian James himself plus features with Quiz of Blu Division, Curtiss King, Ghrimm, Kraftie and Kace Moon.
Up until earlier this year things had gone quiet since Eat Or Be Eaten Vol. 2 but then in January we received a HEATER of a record entitled Listen produced by Malcolm Harvest along with a music video.
Today we are back as Brian James is gearing to drop his new project entitled "Listen" later this year and over the coming weeks will ensure that Dubcnn readers get a host of new music, starting today!  Inglewood MC Alkatraz aka HipHopAlkatraz has been on the scene for around seven years now and has released two solo mixtapes to street and viral acclaim.
Those releases "THEE Escape" and "My Neck of the Woods: Volume 1" have sold over 10,000 copies online and in the streets. The second project "My Neck of the Woods: Volume 1" even featured "The GodFather of Latin Hip-Hop" Mellow Man Ace.
Just recently we featured him as part of his appearance on the Home Grown Radio Podcast in May and today we are alerting you to his new single and video that feature on his new release "My Neck of the Woods: Volume 2" which includes appearances from Glasses Malone, Quiz, Stage and Diamonique. In this humorous interview, Tech N9ne tells us about the enormous success of his latest album, working with high profile artists, hooking up with Hopsin, picking producers he works with, signing Brotha Lynch Hung and Jay Rock and possibly making a sequel to "The Rain" with his kids.

 Ever since we first dropped his beats on Dubcnn in 2005 he has gone from strength to strength producting for a who's who of the industry.
Los Angeles representer and THX has always been a friend of Dubcnn and today we are back as he has just released his latest project, a collaboration release with Remy Ranthoven, a homage to Rat Pack era Las Vegas and to the last great mob flick, "Casino." The "Casino" EP is everything you'd expect from THX, epic! As with everything he touches THX ensures you hear every instrument, feel every sample and ultimately enjoy the experience.
Remy takes the film as his canvas and paints a tale of greed, love, betrayal and power under bright lights through 8 tracks laced with samples inspired by the Scorcese classic.
The project features guest appearances from Kanary Diamonds, Thurzday and S-Mak (Skee TV) all adding their own touches to this gritty and inspiring conceptual album.  A few months ago, Dubcnn announced the release of Ralph Myerz single "Weekend Star" from his upcoming album "SuperSonicPulse!" on Sony Music Entertainment. The single featured a remix from Ciscoe, who also produced a song for the album featuring Snoop Dogg, George Clinton and Nipsey Hussle.
Ciscoe, who has worked with a long list of prominent west coast artists, is set to drop a few songs exclusively on Dubcnn over the coming months. Today we have a record with Butch Cassidy, Bad Azz and All City.
The song is called "Why" and is about staying positive and keeping your focus no matter the situation.

 Bay Area's own Prophet continues to showcase the kind of work ethic that breeds success. So far in 2011 he, as well as the rest of the team around him have been relentlessly making new music, shooting videos and doing shows.
This year alone Prophet has released music with frequent collaborators Deep H2oz and Six Reasons for the single I'm Eatin' and its video and earlier this month he, and his group 7Lions [see official site] were signed to producer RedOne's 2101/Universal record label.
In that same update Prophet dropped off a brand new single called My Life with Layne Tadesse over a Deep H2oz production - as well as the music video for it. That video was produced by the Wolfiskin team who have been putting out some incredible videos recently and My Life reinforced that.
 The reason for today's update is that Miguel Ferrer and the Wolfiskin team have just released an epic visual for the new Prophet record with the talented and beautiful California R&B singer Jessi Malay. "Like You" is once again produced by Deep H2oz and we have both the single and the video for you to check out, we urge you to check out the video and then download the single as this is about to BLOW UP! Get ready for the music and video to "take you on an epic journey that spans time, life and love."

 Since week one of 2011 we've been keeping you updated on the hugely anticipated double EP "History/Destiny" from Treacherous Records MC One-2. So far we've dropped teaser records like the Hardcore (Remix) with Jayo Felony as well as records from the actual double EP including In The Zone featuring Kobe produced by Komplex, from the "Destiny" disc and another Komplex production Half Man with Crooked I from the History Disc.
The latter track, released in January, now has a video which we've just been sent that features One-2 and Crooked I in a black and white visual directed by Blind Productions.

 Rapper BG Knocc Out most noted for his performances with the late great godfather of gangsta rap; Eazy-E, is getting ready to drop his debut solo album. BG KO's most notable performance was "Real Muthafuckin G's", a controversial record that launched his career.
In 1995 he released the acclaimed album with his brother, Dre'sta the Gangsta, "Real Brothers" through Outburst Records/Def Jam.
After all the controversy and at the height of his career BG KO was sentenced to 10 years in prison for a gang related shooting, which accounts for his absence.
BG KO was released from prison in late 2006 for a short while, but went back for a gun charge. He has recently been touring with Bone Thugs and Harmony and is featured on multiple tracks on their upcoming album.
BG KO's debut solo album is due to be released this year. Along with his debut album, BG KO is due to re-release Real Brothers aswell as the much anticipated Real Brothers 2.

 Lights Over Paris aka L.O.P are an American rock band formed in Los Angeles consisting of Robb University [vocalist], Will Pepper [keyboardist] and DJ Shiny.
The group, formed in 2009, blend a potent mainstream mix of melodic rock hooks, pulsating dance rhythms with a twist of hip hop. Since their inception they quickly captured the attention of renowned producer Kevin Rudolf [Lil Wayne, Cobra Starship] as well as a host of others who helped combine for their debut single and EP of the same name in 2010.

 An artist everyone on Dubcnn has been behind since day one has been Watts representer Glasses Malone. Over his career so far we've kept you updated with the latest news and media [See the extensive archives] and in 2011 alone we've given you his appearances on Phinesse' Reborn project, Young Brown's Damage Control mixtape and of course the acclaimed We On fronted by Malone and his Blu Division label.
After many years of waiting the long awaited debut album from Glasses Malone is almost upon us.
"Beach Cruiser" - the cover to which can be seen in this update - will be released on August 30 by Cash Money, Suburban Noize Records and Sony Music.
Today we are dropping off both his street solo record "Dope" as well as his brand new official single "Rich N Thuggin" featuring Ya Boy which landed at radio this week. A music video is being wrapped at the moment and will debut next week. Check them both below!

 Watts representer Six Reasons continues to be a regular on Dubcnn with his constant flurry of new music and visuals. Having release his 2008 mixtape Pipe Dreams that featured Prophet, LeMarvin, LT, Grown Mo and Layne Tadesse - as well as production from Deep H2OZ (Mac Dre, Too Short, Clyde Carson), The Key and Hutch - he went on to drop a handful of singles including his Single Ladies Remix of the 2009 Beyonce of the same name,
Then late last year we dropped the long awaited DJ Skee presented mixtape Do Not Pass Go Do Not Collect $200 that featured production from Starr Lab and Deep H2oz and led with the video for Do Me a Favor.
Then in March we were back as he released the video for the Deep H2oz produced track I'm Eatin' featuring Prophet, the video was directed By Blind Productions.
Today we are back as Six has done it again, dropping not just a new record but a video at the same time for the track. The cut, available below, is called "Fat Lady" and is aimed at All Rappers with the note "Eagles Don't Fly With Seagulls" where he has some choice words for MCs and trends!  A little earlier this year we introduced you to an up and coming MC from Compton called H.O.P.E. Wright. Firstly we gave you his single Compton's Finest with Kendrick Lamar in January and then followed up in April [see; Dubcnn Want's You To: "Believe In Hope Wright"] with the free download of his 13 track Believe In Hope Wright project which is truly not to be slept on.
Today we are back as H.O.P.E. just dropped off a new record, a collabo with New York crooner Jesse Boykins III, "I Got U" produced by J. Pounds.
H.O.P.E. also gave some back story on being introduced to Jesse. "We have a mutual friend that introduce me to him via the internet and gave us each other's contact info. At the time they were really pushing for us to work together but we were unaware of each others work. I gave him a listen and I loved it off the bat. It's funny because he said the same thing to me about my music. He enjoyed my heart felt lyrics as much as I enjoyed his romantic vibe on all his songs."
About the track H.O.P.E. went on to explain; "I was still in Hawaii at the time and he was doing his thing out in London but I knew I had the record for him. Working with my buddy producer J. Pounds, I knew we could mesh what us two do best. Pound's funk, Jesse's innate way to make even that hook sound romantic along with how I was feeling at the time felt like the stars aligned just for those Three Minutes."

 Earlier this year we dropped the Infinit Angles - The Roscoe Sessions project for free download. The release was a collaboration between two underground LA hip-hop crews; Infinit P'Tenchul consisting of the trio Yelloblac, Trace and Preed one together with the All Angles a duo of Erbin and Biologik - both groups hail from and represent the 818 San Fernando Valley of Los Angeles.
That project was well received both in the streets and online and today we are back as Erbin and Biologik of the All Angles group are gearing up to release their own album in the coming months.
"City Of Angles" is the name of upcoming album and we have the first single from the project entitled "All We Do" which features Zapata The Ghost and Robbs The One over a production by Erbin mixed by Brown Caeser - check it below.

 The release date for the long waited "The Substance" album from Hawthorne duo Noni Spitz & Dae One, better known together as No One, is almost here. On August 30th they will drop the release they have been teasing us with for all of 2011!
Already this year we have dropped the teaser record How It Iz as well as its Musci Video, produced by Dae One, the remix to which is featured on the Clearance (Substance Abuse) as well as the video for Sad But True with Mike Ant.
One half of the duo, Noni Spitz, also took time last month to release his solo side project The Pre Players Manual which was to hype the release of his "The Players Manual album features the record Celebrate featuring and produced by Smokey Lane.

 Famed LA photographer/director Estevan Oriol has just released a new video he shot for SA affiliate Bambu.
The track was originally recorded and released in conjunction with Frank 151's Chapter 45 issue on the Philippines (fish being one of the countries main sources of food), in which Estevan and Bambu collaborated for and has now transformed into a larger visual piece.
Taking place on Venice Beach's pier, Bambu shows the journey of the fish from its contaminated habitat in Los Angeles' ocean, to a Filipino seafood market in Historic Filipinotown, and finally to the table of Bambu's family.
He hits the pier to go fishing, then off to the local market, before bringing home some fresh fish to feed his son.

 Last night Snoop Dogg hit the stage in Manchester, UK to perform his debut album "Doggystyle" in full to a packed crowd at the Apollo venue for the Manchester International Festival 2011.
The stage, featuring a huge screen video-wall back-drop that showcased the original album artwork by Joe Cool, also included a fire hydrant, lowrider bike and a bench. The reason for the bench soon became clear when Snoop finally began the show [following some technical hitches] as almost the entire supporting cast of "Doggystyle" were in attendance.
Daz, Kurupt, RBX, Lady of Rage and Warren G all took to the stage throughout the night to lend their vocals to tracks from the LP.
Right from the unmistakable sound of "G-Funk Intro" the night was set and over the next hour Snoop took the crowd through back-to-back classic's [Gin & Juice, Who Am I (What's My Name?), Murder Was The Case, Serial Killa, For All My N*ggaz & B*tches, Ain't No Fun] interspersed with more recent collaborations with Dr Dre from "2001" including "Still Dre" and "The Next Episode."
The most poignant point of last night was the tribute to Nate Dogg when Snoop called for a moment of silence before Warren G took to the stage to perform "Regulate" alone for one of the first times since Nate's death in March of this year. For those who haven't already please take a moment to read our Remembering Nate Dogg Feature where we spoke to E-40, Battlecat, Kokane, Lady Of Rage, Fredwreck, DJ Quik, Crooked I, Big C-Style, Lil Half Dead, Bad Azz, Frank Nitty and of course Warren G to Remember Nate Dogg.
In terms of the overall show Snoop ensured that everyone was covered last night - whether you have known him since the early 90s or simply from his recent work with Pharell, Akon and David Guetta ["Wet" from his 2011 release "Doggumentary"] you couldn't fail but to have a track you could know and love.
The most striking thing about the whole show was that there are so few albums like "Doggystyle" - how many artists have made an album that can be performed live in its entirity to a packed crowd of all ages and have each one of them reliving the first time they heard "Doggystyle." "The Chronic" changed Hip-Hop and "Doggystyle" took Death Row in the 90s to the next level, a fusion of Gangsta and Fun that few have ever managed to acheive.

The Inglewood rapper just debuted the subversive new single called "Molotov Cocktail", which will appear on Thurz's upcoming solo album "L.A. Riot" inspired by Rodney King, the 1992 Los Angeles Riots and recent North Africa Uprisings.

 There's a new powerhouse of young talent brewing on the West Coast. Coming together under the name of Involved Records, this new independent label is home to 22 up and coming artists from all over the globe, displaying their capabilities in an array of musical genres, from Hip-Hop to Reggae to Latin music.
Involved Records was founded by CEO Celester Gaither, better known under his artist name Doc.Ce, under which he has collaborated with musical legends Barry White and the Gap Band, as well as West Coast veterans such as Kokane, MC Eiht, Bad Azz, Goldie Loc and RBX.
The Los Angeles rapper has a clear vision of where he wants to take his company: "We are here to flood the streets with hot music, taking it back to the old school, and we're ready to put in all the leg work we have." Gaither, aka Doc.Ce, currently has a single heating up the streets called "Real Hustlaz Can", which features Kokane and Goldie Loc of Tha Eastsidaz.
Besides himself, Gaither also has several rising artists that he is showcasing. One of his fellow L.A. natives is Mr. Smoove, who is known for always carrying a positive message in his songs. His current single "Gotta Be A Betta Way" features Bad Azz from the Dogg Pound Gang and is now available on iTunes and all digital retailers via Involved Records.
Detroit representer CAP1 is also on the Involved Records roster and currently has his catchy radio single "Ice Cream" out online, while Southern artist Lil Suge gives it up to the independent women taking care of their business while maintaining their reputation on his single "Certified Ruby".
Involved Records also has a couple of female spitters on the team, such as Lyric Lee, who has her mellow summer single "Cruzin" blazing the streets. Female MC Lady Cam has her autobiographic single "Lady Like" out on all the digital retailers, introducing herself as a force to be reckoned with.

 At the turn of 2011 we let you know that Verbal - who has been a Dubcnn regular over the past couple of years - had signed to LRT/Universal.
Having dropped tracks including Get Her featuring Avant, U Ain't Heard with Phil The Agony, Planet Asia & Raje, F-ck Whut U Thought alongside Clinton Wayne & Epademik he then signed to LRT/Universal and gave us his 6 ft 7 Freestyle for that update.
Since then Verbal has parted ways with LRT/Universal and today drops this new track as a free agent. "Uh Oh" features Phil The Agony and Clinton Wayne over a Lee Wilson production with mixing from C Sick [40 Glocc, Wu Tang, 4 Horsemen, Talib Kweli, Dilated Peoples]. Check the record out below.
