Another day, another Rapper gone. Today, Houston Rap legend, H.A.W.K. was shot outside a friends home in his car. The rapper was well known and respected amongst Southern Rap fans. He was an original member of DJ Screw‘s (R.I.P.) Screwed Up Click. He was the older brother of Fat Pat who was gunned down in 1998. The two brothers shared a spot on the Houston posse-anthem “Wanna Be A Baller” back in 1998, just before Pat’s death. H.A.W.K., most recently, was featured on Rap-A-Lot’s latest signee Trae‘s first single “Swang” which we premiered here on Dubcnn back in March and was a tribute to his fallen brother.

I would give my last breath if I could bring you back, bring Screw back, matter fact, bring the whole Crew back, Only God can do that, so I’ma leave it alone

H.A.W.K. is survived by a wife and two children. Dubcnn sends condolences to the Hawkins family, H.A.W.K.’s friends and loved ones in their time of grief.

For those who missed it, here’s “Swang” by Trae featuring H.A.W.K.
