Dubcnn took time out back in June to an insight on some new Westcoast talent, Empty Pocketz, the duo which includes brothers Nick & Joseph Valentine (AKA Cello & Jodamself). The feedback from you guys on the project we were hyping from these guys was tremendous and i thank you all! We’re back to let you know the mixtape is out now! The group – who now reside in Los Angeles California – was born in the deserts of the South-Western hemisphere, New Mexico, Phoenix during a welfare plagued summer of 1994. Since that time the brothers have made noise throughout the South-West & Westcoast with self-budgeted 12-Inch singles : “Who Got Themotts” (1994), “Illusions”(Vestry Records 1995), “Marvelouss..@!” and the EP “Letters From The Field” in 2000
Empty Pocketz presents rhymes of reality, with a humorous-sarcastic twist presente within an original sound made for the masses. The sounds range from jazzy to grimey with Cello behind 90% of the groups production. The duo has touched the stage with the likes of Krs-1, Xzibit, Tha Alkaholiks, The Beatnuts, Das Efx, Raekwon, Pharcyde and many more. Known for their great stage presence & realistic rhymes of life, Empty Pocketz is a remedy needed in the now saturated hip hop reservoir.
