Wyclef Jean Goes Deep Down In His Heart

0

Wyclef Jean, record producer and world-renowned artist and musician, has continued to make a name for himself throughout the years. Not only is he known for his countless hits which span over two decades but he is also recognized for his humanitarian efforts, especially to his native country, Haiti.

Wyclefs dedication and commitment to his land is what led him to establish the Yle Haiti Foundation in 2005. Wyclefs priority for his organization was to build and provide the people of Haiti with opportunities. Yle Haiti Foundation has provided thousands of scholarships to the children of Port-au-Prince, Les Cayes, Gonaves, Cap-Hatien, and Port-de-Paix.

After Haiti was hit by a catastrophic earthquake on January 12th, 2010, Wyclefs main focus was to provide aid and assistance to his people, who were left deeply affected by the tragedy.

Now, with Haiti desperately needing upstanding leadership and proper guidance more than ever, Wyclef Jean has responded to the need of his people. Just this month, Wyclef formally announced his candidacy for president of Haiti on CNNs Larry King Live.

As expected, his announcement has caused some controversy. Those who have expressed their concern include Prakazrel Pras Samuel Michel, Wyclefs former friend and Fugees group member, and also actor Sean Penn, who has substantially contributed to the rebuilding of Haiti since the devastating earthquake hit. Both Pras and Penn have stated that they do not support Wyclef in his race for presidency and do not agree with his policies, stating his lack of experience as being a main part of their reasoning.

However, Wyclef Jean still has many supporters globally who are backing him and believe that he is more than qualified to become the next president of Haiti including Jonathan Hay Publicity and Hoopla Media Group. Both companies have partnered up with Julian Williams of Enterprise Label Group to release a song, in which Wyclef is featured and is the first project to be released since the announcement of his candidacy.

Hoopla Media Group will be releasing the single, entitled Deep Down In My Heart with R&B songstress Desiree, worldwide this month. The majority of the songs proceeds will be donated to Haiti in an effort to improve the conditions that the people of Haiti have been facing on a daily basis due to the earthquake.

Sabrina Hale of the award-winning graphic art company, Urbanista Graphix, has donated the songs artwork. Haiti is said to also be close to Sabrinas heart as well, as her parents as well as her extended family have spent a significant amount of time as missionaries in Haiti over the past forty years.

Deep Down In My Heart with Wyclef Jean and Desiree will be available worldwide in August 2010 through Hoopla Media Group.
