It was back in June when we first introduced you to the incredible new talent that is Azad Right – see; Azad Right Releases Incredible “A Piece Of Mine” EP.
As we said in that very update we see countless new artists and material passed to Dubcnn and every once in awhile someone bucks the trend of dissapointments and showcases an ability to put a genuinely interesting slant on the culture with an opportunity to influence the masses in a positive way.
The Venice, CA artist – the son of a divorced-blind poet, classically trained pianist and violinist with a Bachelorﾒs degree of Iranian descent – is exactly that someone and in June released his first single Spiderwebs and his acclaimed six track debut EP A Piece Of Mine right here on Dubcnn.
Azad told us then, “My story is something that people should know about. Hip-Hop culture has grown so much and I’m living proof. Ten years ago, an Iranian-American rapper was an impossible career choice. In 2011, I plan to make it my reality” and today, as well as releasing his first full length project, we have a recent interview we did with Azad to find out a little but more about this talented MC.
Azad Right is all about skill and his ambition is palpable. Dubcnn.com hooked up with this emcee to talk about his path he is on that he believes will lead him to success. We talk about what he calls success and also what he learned from interning at Interscope. At some point in our lives we face a crossroad and Azad Right faced that fork in the road and has been at peace and in constant motion ever since making his choice. Moving from this interview and his June release, today “The Time Is Right” drops which sees Azad Right take his place amongst this years most complete new artists. The 17 track release which features appearances from Luna Angel, EQ, Jenilee, Sofia Enggren, The Bridge and Sinima over production from Jonathan Marquez, Professor O, David Dann and others is a cohesive and solid debut project that is not to be slept on.
