L.A. prodigy Blu is just about to release his second project in as many months.
Having appeared at Paid Dues alongside Exile to premiere a Fashawn featured record [Blu Performs New Song w/ Fashawn & Exile @ Paid Dues 2011 Video] earlier this year, said to be from his long awaited new album “NoYork!” which he discussed with us in this exclusive Interview, he then dropped Doin’ Something, a posse cut which saw Blu, Pac Div, U-N-I, J*DaVeY, TiRon and Aymomari all on one song.
Just last month Blu appeared again, not with “NoYork!,” but under an adopted an alter-ego B for his latest interim project “Jesus.” That release – which is in stores now, and can be bought via Amazon and iTunes and features memorable collaborations with the likes of Alchemist, Madlib, Planet Asia, and Hezekiah – spawned the Madlib produced title track Jesus.
Today we are back as Blu is back and about to release another record with Nature Sounds on September 27th, this time though the mic is getting little use as he’s putting his beats on full display with his new production album “Open,” on which he produced every track.
On the new single “Avenge Of The Cheap” – available below – he makes one of only two Open tracks with vocals from Blu himself. Blu trades verses with frequent collaborator Sene over his own funky, dusty production. The moral of the story? Life is like a cheap-ass merry-go-round. Check it below.
