Multi-platinum producer Curtis “Kurt Kobane” Couthon, formerly of Death Row Records and who has produced on projects like ﾓToo Gangsta For Radioﾔ, ﾓSuge Knight Presents: Chronic 2000ﾔ, Snoop Doggy Doggﾒs ﾓHead Doctorﾔ, and 2Pacﾒs ﾓUntil The End of Timeﾔ among others, is now launching his own imprint, Hitsylum Inc. Entertainment.
With all past obligations and contracts having expired, Kobane, along with partner Kevin Daniels, has started Hitsylum to bring new sounds, talent, and a fresh energy to the masses who have grown tired of mediocre music. Thrust into the role left vacant by former Death Row CEO Suge Knightﾒs incarceration in the early 2000ﾒs, Kurt Kobane gained invaluable experience heading up the once powerful west coast label which helped shape, train and prepare him for the next level which has arrived.
Having worked with iconic artists such as 2Pac, Jodeci, Snoop Dogg and others, working closely with labels like Cash Money, Ruff Ryders, and making connections with top executives at Universal and Warner Bros. to name a few, Kurt Kobane & Hitsylum will tap into the untapped, lucrative Midwest markets of talented artists, writers, and beatmakers.
With his own imprint to run Kurt Kobane and Hitsylum will be releasing the first project through the newly formed label: Milwaukee native AWAL.
Aronﾔ AWALﾔ Walton began rapping at the young age of 13 and soon found himself rapping for Kurt Kobane. Kobane took an interest in the young writer becoming a mentor and a guide. With multi-platinum producerﾒs guidance, AWAL has had the opportunity to work with big-name artists like Hot Boys, Lilﾒ Wayne, Juvenile, Terk, B.G., Too Short and others.
AWAL is constantly working to pursue his dream of being on of the best rapperﾒs in history, and is currently putting together his debut solo album for Hitsylum/Coudan Entertainment AWALﾒs project will include collaborations with Sean Kingston, Ray J and others, and is also being included on the recently released Allhiphop.com mixtape which features music from Dr. Dre, DJ Kaled, OG Cuicide, Seven, Ace Hood and others..
