The start of a new year is as good a time as any to check in with one of the West Coast’s most talented lyricists, Mykestro. The respected MC has long been a staple of Dubcnn, and that certainly looks set to continue into 2011 and beyond. ‘Stro’s latest offering is the brooding visual accompaniment to a self-explanatory cut, the Seige Monstrosity helmed, “I’m Ill.” Directed by the prolific D. Baker of The Bakery, it sees ‘Stro defiantly proclaiming himself to be an “unsung hero.” His confrontational lyrics are then delivered in some suitably gritty environments.
