Kurupt's first solo album vs. Daz's first solo album
« on: April 24, 2007, 06:53:25 AM »
I'll post more of my thoughts later, the first thing I want to point out is Kurupt's lyric's on his album "Kuruption" were drastically worse than anything he ever did on Death Row.  It's like Kurupt got so focused on business and signing rappers, and the image of being a label owner, that he forgot how to rap.  Then his label went bankrupt and was dissolved, and suddenly he remembered how to rap again and his next album was respectable.

Kurupt's lyrics were aweful on his first solo album, totally unfocused.

Daz had alot of guests on his first album. Sounded more like a compilation. But lyrically I think he brought the heat on that album. I liked a good portion of Kuruption, even a couple cuts off the East disc but I would have to go with Daz.

RR&GB is better than anything kurupt has done.  Out of all albums from daz and kurupt including dpg albums it is the second best, only behind dogg food.

RRG&B was clearly a better album that Kuruption. BUT. . .I happen to think that Streets iz a Mutha is better than both.

I think his Death Row days he was untouchable. A lyricist in every sense of the word. Not so much now, but he is good for a real lyrical track here and there.

^^maybe in comparison with spice 1 and mc breed, but to rappers of the non-gangsta variety he wasnt sayin too much
