Exclusive Interview With Terrace Martin: Part 1 - August 3, 2007 By : Eddie

Dubcnn's Summer Of Heat Interview Series continues today with the first part of an exclusive feature that will end with the release of one of the year's hottest street albums!

It’s only been a couple of months since we last spoke with Terrace Martin, but it was critical for Dubcnn to link up with him again to discuss his ever-growing number of new music projects. In the first part of this in-depth interview, we discuss Terrace’s new “street album” at length. What exactly is this new “street album/mixtape?” All of your questions will be answered about the project.

We also speak about the Niggarachi production team that Terrace formed with Snoop Dogg, and he explains what they’ve got in store for us in the near future. Terrace also schools us on the meaning of the term “producer,” and explains the difference between a “beat-maker” and a music producer. He tells us about upcoming projects with Kurupt, Problem, and Tri-Star as well. Check out the informative interview below:

Exclusive Interview With Terrace Martin [Part 1] (August 2007)

After you've read the interview, check out this picture of Terrace producing a track in the studio. Be sure to head over to Terrace's Myspace Page and add him as your friend as well!

Come back next week for the exclusive leak of Terrace's lead single from his street album. Also be on the lookout for part two of this feature, where Terrace Martin walks us track-by-track through his new project, when his street album officially drops on Dubcnn!

Drop some feedback guys!  Terrace reads everything here.

that was a DOPE interview

I liked how be broke down the whole "producer/beat maker" thing...No doubt music benefits when the producer & rapper are in the studio 2gether from beginning 2 end...sad that it's rare these days

Nice interview.  The thing I like about Terrance is he can actually play instruments which gives his music more of an organic feel to it.  Not many hip hop producers can say the same.

Ridin is great single, wait till yall hear the rest. and look out for Terrace's production on Murs new album too. Murs F/ Snoop Dogg, and Latoiya Williams, and the 1500 Choir. Classic shit.

  • If it don't make dollaz, it don't make sense.
Much props for the interview, I can't wait for that mixtape to drop. Terrace is definitely in my top 5 producers on the West Coast right now, and everything he's been dropping lately has been off the hook. It's also good to see that he's working with Problem, Kurupt, Mykestro, Roscoe & Tri-Star. I hope Terrace is able to get Eastwood on one of his beats too, that would be dope. 8)

Yeah guys, this street album is gonna be better than you can even imagine.  It's easily one of the best releases of the year, including albums and mixtapes.
