i dont understand why they cant make that sound anymore there was nothing wrong with it. its like everyone started out with that funky sound and it all just faded away. maybe its just because im getting older back then everything sounded so much better than it did now does anyone feel the same way??? man i wish that they can just recreate that sound in atleast acouple songs and put it on a album.  i know some people have tried to bring it back(warreng)and i give hem props but its just not the same.

"One day Alice came to a fork in the road and saw a Cheshire cat in a tree. "Which road do I take?" she asked. "Where do you want to go?" was his response. "I don't know," Alice answered. "Then," said the cat, "it doesn't matter."

They should bring back G-Funk for the West like how the East brought back the Soul. The shit would blow up again. Seriously, I'm not feeling this funky shit much. I want some synth whistles, deep smooth basslines and all that classic G-Funk.

All ex gfunk rappers arent in the situation where they banged, trying to survive... back then they needed the money & they couldnt just come as another grand master spade or whatever so they wanted to come original, trying to feel the music, trying to put other instruments in the music & all but now their name is known so why bother?
if they put out a record with there name on it, its going to sell major even if its sucky...

Xzibit was in an interview with Murder Magazine and he basically explained why GFunk and the West Coast ain't sellin no more.  He said the whole 40's, blunts, beotches, AK's, bloods, crips, lowriders, and all that sounds cliche now when you spit it on a record cause it's all been done before.  He said there's a lot of talent, creativity and reality behind those old records, but that most people were buying it because of the gimmicks listed above.

That's a good question. I think they don't do it anymore, because they think that it won't sell, because the people are tired of it.

Check some chicano-rap releases. They are still supporting that old flavour.

...and now they are trying to make money with eastcoast influenced beats and music and collabo´s with "chart"-artists and so on. dunno, but this is nothing new...we have this already on the eastcoast with all them chart-rappers. and now, since they (our so-called westcoast superstars snoop etc) are doing this, we dont have any of that smooth gfunk westcoast sound any more....we can only find it more underground. like funkadelic said, theres some funky chicano ish out there that reminds a bit of the good old times....sad but true.

...and the best thing: since they are dont doing it anymore, they are not selling as much as in the past.
