honestly this is how i feel......Rakim- 10/10Detox- 11/10Cube- 9/1050 Cent- 9/10Suga Free- 9/10yeah you seen right 11/10 for detox
It's kind of funny when reading that people think that Suga Free's album will be better that Rakim's.
I decided to do this, nothing serious, but what do you seriously expect each of these albums to be, especially with the hype surrounding them? I am predicting my "rating" for these albums, I haven't heard anything from them but I am just predicting how much I will like each one according to the past and how things have went.Note: Do NOT take this seriously...I don't want to see "man u idiot they aren't even out yet, how do u say that is gonna be better than this?"Rakim - Oh My God! 8/10. I know how dope Rakim is and Dre, and The Watcher and Addictive gave us a good taste. But for some reason, I don't really think it will be as extremely dope as we all hope for. Just as with Rakim's last album, everything we hear from Rakim will be dope, but nothing that will shock us because we have already heard the best that he can do. Dr. Dre - Detox - 9/10. Yes...another West Coast classic, almost as many dope songs as Chronic 2001, and Dre's most diverse album ever. However, this album will not have the impact that the original Chronic, or 2001 had on the industry, and for the West Coast. This will be somethin we will ride to for a while, but just doesn't give you chills like when you first heard Doggystyle or The Chronic. Also, I predict Dre will not use much upcoming dope West Coast talent such as the Dogg Pound, Snoop, or Hittman, when nobody knew who they were. This may be a classic Hip Hop album, but the West won't celebrate it as much is it may want to.Ice Cube's Aftermath Debut - 7/10 - Is Cube's career still of any value? Lyrically, Cube hasn't been himself since 96, and the fact that Dre may spend more time on other artists may make his album show that Cube's time is expiring. This will be better than the War and Peace collection, and will have dope songs to ride to, but nothing classic as Cube used to drop.Suga Free - The New Testament - 9/10 - How does this get the same as Detox? A few reasons. For one, the hype around this album is nowhere near as much as Detox, and this album will come out of nowhere and shock those who were like "Suga Free who? That dude? He's iite." True, more tales of pimpin, and probably not much more. But so what? DJ Quik will provide party beats that are as dope as "Get Nekkid" "Y u bullshittin?" and Suga Free's humorous flows will keep you pressing repeat. This CD will be better than Street Gospel, which was classic other than a few mediocre songs. If promotion is right, people on different coasts will jump on his bandwagon.Crooked I (Death Row release) - 6/10 - Damn....what some considered as the future of the west coast, comes with a very average album. Unlike most West Coast albums, The lyrical content is much better than the production....too bad the production almost takes a toll on the lyrics. Crooked I spits on some songs, but some songs make you wonder, what happened to the Crooked I we heard on old DPG songs that had us in shock? This album almost certifies Tha Row as being a wack label who will never again produce quality material.
