With Deathrow having so many classic releases  it may be hard to pick one as the best,
but if you had to choose one then what would it be?

The 7 Day Theory" is probably Hip-Hop's finest album. BUT, Doggystyle is my favorite album and probably the most important for making Death Row what they went on to be. I mean when you consider Who Am I (Whats My Name), Gin & Juice, Ain't No Fun (If the Homies Can't Have None), G'z & Hustlas, Murder Was the Case, all being on the same album...its insane. And wasn't it confirmed that they never really got to complete the recording process for the album? Shiiit I can only imagine.

The Chronic for me easily and I can also tell you why:

One important point is that Dre made all the affiliates on the album bring their A-game. Have heard Daz rap that awesome as on "The Day The Niggaz Took Over" again? And that's just one example.

What I find even more striking is the production which was really paving the way for all that G-Funk that came out after. When you compare it to the majority of all the other rap albums that were out by that time, you can clearly hear the musical difference. Dre was adding synthie instruments to the tracks, the drums were a lot different as they were on the "classical" sample based rap albums and he switched it from jazz to funk. It's like he uses the same oven to cook but with different and new ingridients. That's why The Chronic is the best DR release imo.

The Chronic = Doggystyle = Dogg Food = All Eyez On Me > The 7 Day Theory

I chose Doggystyle though.
