Kendrick Lamars album was WEAK when compared to debuts like Doggystyle, Chronic

He's one of the best lyricists in the biz. But his album contained no "Heatrocks". It was like listening to an old Pharcyde album, or Tribe Called Quest album fillers. This is why you won't see him blow to Eminem, Snoop Dogg, 50 Cent status. Because his album did NOT have a couple crossover "Bangers".

They even hid the MC Eiht collab on the back of another track and that was the only "signature westcoast banger" on the whole CD. Dre only put Eiht on the album so he wasn't the only old citizen on the album looking like he's trying to stay relevant.

It's a great album to chill and smoke too, but given a few months, it won't sit amongst the classics because there's no smash hit records on it.

I agree but like Pharcyde, Kendrick got a big following still.

I'm still undecided on GKMC, it's a very very well crafted album but like you said, there's no standout bangers on there. But it do got really intricately constructed songs.

It's a 7 - 7.5/10 album for me.

There are better albums out there, but Kendricks is getting all the eHype it seems now

It's kind of like white rappers now can be as dope as they want to be, but they'll never amount to when Eminem came in & took over the game.
