Daz is top 10 to ever bless the mic

I remember back in the day before the advent of internet forums, like 94 and 95 my friends and I debating who we liked more, Daz or Kurupt.  And back then we didn't even think of Daz as a producer but it was Daz as a rapper.  I think headz want to downplay Daz skills on the mic just because he was a producer.  Like its not uncommon to hear Kurupt mentioned as one of the best by why not Daz?  He as toe to toe with Kurupt and on some tracks Daz would shine more and vice versa.  So how come Daz is never mentioned as top 10?

LOL. Daz is a horrible rapper, there's no doubt about it. The reason he is so bad is that he is one of the most incoherent rappers ever to touch the mic. Even on the Daz & WC album, which is pretty good, Daz comes off as an idiot next to WC. On "Time Will Prevail," WC gives a tribute to his dead homie and Daz just strings together nonsense.

"In actuality they faced with technicality" - a good quote illustrating that Daz was rhyming meaningless polysyllabic words well before Kurupt. This line seems to foreshadow Kurupt's "tyrranical animal pterodactyl" rhyming.

But the real sign that Daz is a wack rapper: how many times has he rhymed D-A-Z with D-P-G or D-P-G-C or 4-L-I-F-E or K-U-R-U-P-T?

It's like when Crooked dissed Snoop: "foshizzle my nizzle fosheezy nephew - damn that's the nigga's first verse and his next two." How many Daz songs from circa 2000 are just him rhyming his name with his set?

i'm a fan of daz, i prefer him over Kurupt. but let's be real in terms of rapping skills and lyrical ability (focusing strictly on the form and not the content), he's not even in the top 10 in the west, shit i can make a list on the spot of 10 easily better rappers from all around the states. i like daz's flow and style and all but all he got his struggle bars, he was kinda cool in the 90's as a novelty but even then, when he had his best verses (dogg food, aeom), he wasn't even writing his lyrics, Snoop & Kurupt wrote most of his raps at the time. i do like his introspective and story telling verses ala only for u, baby mama drama, regretz, my mama, do you know, second to none, reality, i don't like to dream about gettin pain but in terms of lyrics as MOBNigga06 said, he's pretty much the end of the list especially since after This Is The Life I Lead. but hey if he's in your top 10 I can respect that, just like it's cool to have a personal favorite athlete even if he doesn't rank among the goats, Daz will never rank among the GOAT rappers.
