I thought Sting came off dope.
If it was Nate Dogg singing the same part, people would be all over it.

Snoop came off well, but it needed another verse imo.

This project is an absolute disaster.

Somebody may have fucked up behind the scene. Something is not right with this whole album rollout, plus Kendrick just killed all the hype of this album with GNX

Yes, no video for a single, otherwise Snoop always brings out videos for each single. He apparently doesn't even know when the singles will be released. They said that a kind of film to the album will be released in the same week as the album, maybe in the package are also the videos of the singles. Still a half-finished promotion and that of Interscope

I think there's trouble behind the scenes. I asked Focus on IG why there is no promotion or videos for the album. Short Answer: Ask Interscope

All the songs are flopping, who wants to hear a 50 year old rapper singing autotune on a pop beat?

This isn't the reason it's flopping

I liked it.
I think it's not what people initially expected, which is the main issue.
When I first heard Sexual Eruption, I was like WTF is this? But quickly I loved it and so did many other people.

Just because it's not a proper typical hip=hop beat, doesn't mean it's pop, but a more rock influenced production. 'Round here' from TBCT was a guitar lead production sampling Dido.

There’s a 10 minute video dropping on the 10th of December that’s narrated by Method Man.  I’m sure this will have visuals for a number of songs from the project.  Good idea to hype it up right before it drops.  I’m sure it will be big budget.

As for the promo, I can’t remember the last time I’ve seen a Snoop album get some much promo.  He’s everywhere right now

Regarding interests in genres outside of hip hop, I agree that my musical tastes have also expanded since The Chronic and Doggystyle, but when I hear Dre and Snoop are making an album, I want to hear a straight hip hop album from them, because there aren't many other combinations of producer and rapper that can touch them in hip hop. And so I don't buy a Snoop album wanting to hear him be an average at best singer or Dre try to imitate current pop music. When I buy a hip hop album, I want hip hop. When I buy a rock album, I want rock. When I buy a electronic album, I want electronic. When I buy a country album, I want country. Sometimes people just need to stay in their lane and focus on what they're good at.

facts…

if Led Zeppelin came out with a new album and it wasn’t true to their sound, but instead incorporated elements of hip-hop and EDM, what do you think would be the reception?

this isnt rocket science… if dre and snoop dropped an album every couple years and wanted to experiment after multiple classix together, fine.. but considering it’s their first full album together in 30+ years and a follow up to one of the greatest albums in rap history, having it be one big experiment is not the play.

only in hip-hop is venturing out to other genres seen as “growth” .. it’s borderline racist, and stems from the mindset of “hip-hop isn’t a real art form!!” ….. the people here hyping this up based on what we heard have low expectations, because u can’t say with a straight face that anything they dropped thus far has been classic.

Valid points, I must add that Although Snoop is one of the biggest celebrities today, he is not as relevant in Hiphop, and this is where they dropped the ball. Even though he gets the accolades and the camaraderie Snoop Dogg is no longer considered a top 5 mc.

He was unable to reach that level of attention from the die hard fans and the hip-hop fans in general.

Major failure from the so called greatest hip-hop producer and his first protégé.

Missed opportunity to shift the music game again.

They were probably expecting Gorgeous to go viral and have the teens using the song on TikTok.

This seems to be working for Kendrick tho

Interscope could potentially push it back and focus on Kendrick.
