Somebody may have fucked up behind the scene. Something is not right with this whole album rollout, plus Kendrick just killed all the hype of this album with GNX
All the songs are flopping, who wants to hear a 50 year old rapper singing autotune on a pop beat?
I liked it.I think it's not what people initially expected, which is the main issue.Just because it's not a proper typical hip=hop beat, doesn't mean it's pop, but a more rock influenced production. 'Round here' from TBCT was a guitar lead production sampling Dido. When I first heard Sexual Eruption, I was like WTF is this? But quickly I loved it and so did many other people.
I think there's trouble behind the scenes. I asked Focus on IG why there is no promotion or videos for the album. Short Answer: Ask Interscope
Regarding interests in genres outside of hip hop, I agree that my musical tastes have also expanded since The Chronic and Doggystyle, but when I hear Dre and Snoop are making an album, I want to hear a straight hip hop album from them, because there aren't many other combinations of producer and rapper that can touch them in hip hop. And so I don't buy a Snoop album wanting to hear him be an average at best singer or Dre try to imitate current pop music. When I buy a hip hop album, I want hip hop. When I buy a rock album, I want rock. When I buy a electronic album, I want electronic. When I buy a country album, I want country. Sometimes people just need to stay in their lane and focus on what they're good at.
There’s a 10 minute video dropping on the 10th of December that’s narrated by Method Man. I’m sure this will have visuals for a number of songs from the project. Good idea to hype it up right before it drops. I’m sure it will be big budget. As for the promo, I can’t remember the last time I’ve seen a Snoop album get some much promo. He’s everywhere right now
They were probably expecting Gorgeous to go viral and have the teens using the song on TikTok.This seems to be working for Kendrick thoInterscope could potentially push it back and focus on Kendrick.
