Dre was mixing Daz productions then so Dre had it when Pac came to Dre to listen to beats. Dre could've simply confused it for one of his own songs when he told Pac that or Pac could've easily assumed it was a Dre production being that Dre played it for him.

Exactly.  People need to remember that most of us here are superfans and we know every date, song, production, etc.  Most of these guys were just in the studio fucking around making beats, multiple beats every day, going back months, sometimes years later and touching up beats or working on other people's stuff all the while being high and drunk.  Honestly just a matter of mistaken remembrance.  I cringe when these artists get asked super specific questions about songs they've done over 30 years ago expecting them to remember every minute detail and if they get something wrong, they are chastised by the fans.

I think you're underestimating the craft. When you make a good beat it's like your baby and unless you're Nick Cannon you remember the details and where you were when you did it drunk/high or not. Keith Richards still performed all the Rolling Stones songs perfectly.

Just listen to how 2Pac pronounces certain words, stresses the vowels, his flow etc. It’s so different to every other track on the double album and he sounds way more intense on it than on many of the other tracks on All Eyez On Me.  Granted that the nature of the beat and the lyrics kinda call for that, but still.

I’d be willing to bet my bottom dollar that Dre coached 2Pac’s vocals to perfection on that one.  It has the feel of certain vocals being laid a ton of times like Dre has been known to make artists do because 2Pac’s vocals and delivery are pretty much flawless and there’s no way those verses are one takes.

I’m guessing it’s the genius of Dre, that he knew that Pac likes his vocals raw. 

Dre works all his tracks to perfection, it’s ridiculous to think he was like “oh I don’t care how it comes out because I can see into the future and know that I will fallout with him and Suge and leave the label anyway”

Pac even says in that interview I think it’s the one with Richie Rich that that’s how his fans wanna hear, raw like if he’s drunk and feeling in a type of mood, his fans don’t give a fucc they wanna hear it like that.  It may be the shooting range interview but he says, “they are high and drunk listening to it anyway.”

So Dre wasn’t making him do 1,000 takes like Mel-Man on the skit at the end of MMLP “Criminal”

Good find, and I almost thought you solved the case—but I went back and checked Daz’ daughter post and she said “original members”.

She said “original members” once at the beginning of the post and once at the end.  Yes, in the middle it gets convoluted, but she starts and finishes with “original members.”

So though it’s a good find for this discussion—this album came out way late to be a relevant counter to her “original members” argument.
