Fair point. I do agree. Dont get me wrong, I give Dre props, one of the greatest of all time no doubt. Its like any artist, when they do things outside to what their fanbase are used to, it doesnt usually do well.
for rappers, sure .. for producers, it's different that's why dre can drop an eminem or an anderson and they're both a completely different style than the G-Funk we were used to, yet still successful like timbaland can produce aaliyah or jay-z and it doesn't matter if they're two different styles .. good music is good musicif dre drops brilliant music that isn't g-funk, it will be accepted do we all want a chronic 3? unequivocally.. but at the end of the day, it comes down to whether the music is great or not casablanca was ok .. nothing mind blowing, but not bad either .. some people here were really diggin it and some thought it was subpar .. i personally thought it was decent, but not good enough to make noise .. if dre can drop some undeniably great music, that will be the difference .. period
what's your gut say? i mean the amount of time the man spends in the studio... plus the unlimited resources of money and access to talent.. and no magic for a long time...feels like it's a wrap. at a minimum would be nice to see him produce more things front to back..
Generally the idea of message boards is to have conversations. At least Sccit makes good points and discussions, even if we dont always agree. Your juvenile replies about jizz and masturbating and whatever else youre talking about really shows your immaturity and difficulty, based on your intelligence level, to engage in discussions like this. Its no wonder you have no knowledge of the early years of Dre and his career, and thus are unable to contribute anything of substance to the discussion.
You are exactly right. Dre basically has every rapper at his disposal, anyone would gladly hop on a Dre track for his album. Dre has the option to work with pretty much any producer in the world he chooses. He has the most money and most access to any sort of studio or recording technology at his disposal. There is no reason he shouldn't be making the best music anyone has ever heard. Yet we got stuff like Missionary, Cassablanco, The Contract, Someday Has Just Begun, etc. over the last 5 years. So i do agree, I think it's more of an issue as he's just lost it as a producer. There really is no other reason why he shouldn't be hitting a home run every time. Which is fine, doesn't dilute his legacy at all, still one of the best ever. But dude's getting old, he's had medical issues, personal problems, etc. But based on all this, it's silly to think he's going to come out with some instrumental album about outer space and it's somehow going to be the most amazing album of his career.
