50 Cent Update
« on: January 29, 2004, 06:02:01 PM »
50 Cent's next solo album, the sequel to last years best selling rap album, is set for a third quarter 2004 release and is currently being worked on.

As expected, the album will feature the likes of Eminem, G-Unit, and The Game.

The production side of the album will feature the likes of Dr.Dre and a few new producers.......

"My album will be predominately Dr. Dre-produced," 50 told XXL magazine. "I want this record to go to the next level, and my biggest record ever is clearly 'In Da Club."

"I would've done more on the first one," Dre commented. "But 50 came to us with a lot of songs that he had recorded before we signed him. Now we'll be starting [from the beginning]."

"People need to know that I will top my last album," 50 continues. "It is possible and I am going to do it. I am definitely not using the same formula for this album that I did on the first. A lot of things that happened to me during Get Rich Or Die Tryin' -- all the confusion going on around that time and about me has only made me more aggressive. I'm gonna get all sorts of shit off my chest and make the songs perfect. There will be nothing but the marriage between the perfect beat and lyrics."

It will not sell as much as Get Rich or Die Trying. It has almost went diamond!! He is not that lyrically gifted. Just speaks truth on wax is all. Not a lot for raw skills in my opinion! But.... with Dre's production, eminems commercial appeal and  interscope etc. winning good spots for tv etc. then It will ovbiously go platinum, My prediction is 5/6 million.

Some hater-aid drinking goin' on in here... Of course it's cool if you don't like 50, but don't be hating on what he's going to do with his next album if you don't give a fuck about the man. "Waste of beats"... Fuck that. It ain't like we're gonna run out of beats...

50 Cent with a lot of Dre beats sounds good to me, don't care what y'all think...

I don't MIND the idea of a mainly-Dre produced album since I do like 50 Cent, but I would much rather see those beats go to the likes of Snoop, Cube or Game if you see what I'm saying. Like I said, I've nothing against 50 but GRODT was a highly over-rated album that broke no boundaries or new ground. I remember at one point people were calling him the saviour of hip-hop. That's just stupid: 1) He is NOT hip-hop, he's rap and there's an obvious difference and 2) what was so radical about GRODT? Nothing...at least with Dre behind the boards he has the potential to come with some quality tracks and raise the bar a little.
