Guess you skipped the GTA screenshots threads if that's what you call horrible graphics.. 

Besides, the game is made for PS2 and converted to PC and X-Box.
So the 10% PS2 lacks in resolution or detail, is given back in form of 10-12 months earlier release, and not having "convertion issues". 

And 10 months to 1 year is a lot in the IT-world, the graphics of GTA will not amaze people in one year from now, when HalfLife2, Halo2 and Quake4 is the benchmarks... and most people have already completed GTA-SA several times.. lol @ waiting a year for it.

Well while the graphics ARE excellent considering that they're still using the same old ass engine, but they're really not that spectacular compared to other games out there... The Splinter Cells, the Max Paynes, the Virtua Fighters, the Doom 3's...

Still, it's the gameplay, the game world and the story what matters in GTA. Can't wait to get my hands on it, but I got a long wait being that I'm a PC gamer. Luckily, Half-Life 2 should be out by end of the year (fingers crossed)... And then there's the third Splinter Cell coming up...

no matter how good a game is, it cant have good graphics on ps2, because the ps2 is just too whack.

yeah but on those games the maps are so much smaller and their is so much less to detail on......on GTA its so huge that it would take forever to fine tune everything i think they do a damn good job with the graphics and keeping the gameplay top notch......
