GTA - SA breaks every sales record there is

Actually the 17 million was probably game sales alone. Every body owned a Mario 3 and by the time Mario 3 came out at least 40 million owned an NES. However htat doesn't take anything away from GTA's sales. To sell so many copies in today's day is a feat. With pirating and downloading so much more affective and mainstream than it was then. A lot of people would rather not pay 50 to 60 bucks when they could get it for free. Not as many people had Game Doctors and other copying devices for the NES. I had one, but I also bought my share of games, including Mario 3.

Congrats to GTA for breaking the record.  It better savor the feeling, because Halo2 will claim that spot on Tuesday. 

Jome, you said its 2 million shipped, thats wrong its actually nearly 2 million pre - ordered.

Watch, Halo 2 will sell 2 million plus in its first day of sales. Some of yall have no idea how big this is gonna be.  I live in a town of 35,000 people.  The EB games here had over 300 pre orders for Halo 2 1 month ago. GTA had 120 when it dropped.

How could it POSSIBLY do that.. ??
I don't think that Halo2 will be close to beating GTA PS2 sales, and it's not even gonna be funny for Halo2 when GTA drops for PC & X-Box.
