DPG Disses To Kurupt....
« on: June 08, 2002, 01:27:05 PM »
OK.. i wanna try listing the disses to kurupt (and death row) i'll do some tommorow.

Daz disses Kurupt at least twice, and death row several times on 'this life i lead'.

Kurupt gets dissed by Soopafly (i think) on one on the songs on the latest snoop bootleg.

I know for certain Daz dissed Kurupt in "Drama", says something along the lines of "Traitor ass homeboys who sold their soul to the devil....".  Also, Daz dissed Tha Row on "We do this passion", "Run tha Street", "Redrum galore".

I've noticed you are totally ignoring some facts, talking about this move like if it's a soap opera. You are missing the fact that Kurupt himself explained he had a lot of debits, and he had his family and his closest homies to take care. They were looking at him for some help, and he wasnt able to help them. So, all of a sudden, Suge offered Kurupt a great contract to make him an executive producer, probably letting him still make his own albums on Antra Records, and without forcing him to diss DPG (Suge said so, and Kurupt said so. Kurupt aint there to diss DPG, but to help Death Row). If Kurupt was been "forced" (i mean economically) to sign to this label (who obviously helped him back in the days, making him a star), i think the problem is not about Kurupt not being loyal. I think the real problem is that nobody offered Kurupt a better contract. Cause nobody kept the faith in Kurupt like Suge did. Suge invested a lot of money in Kurupt, and, according to Kurupt & Daz, he's paying him too, just to make some live apparences, interviews, and just to executive produce the Crooked I  & Lisa Lopez albums. Try to change your point of view from the simple fact, to the roots, to the problems, to the fact that nobody gave him this chance before. No Dr.Dre, no Snoop, no Master P, no Antra, no Daz, nobody. He found a perfect place for him to get the G's he needs, and to have a new career. The fact that Daz has beefs with Suge is rydiculous IMO. Who cares? Kurupt? And the fact that Kurupt had economical problems? Who cared? Daz? Or Snoop? I dont think Kurupt joined Tha Row just for the pleasure to join it, or just to disrespect tha DPG. Cause, like he said, he got nothing but love for em and he'll never diss them or partecipate to disses to tha DPG, his family. Dont tell me please that Kurupt was a grown man and he had to care care of his business, and not Snoop, Dre or Daz. Cause when you are a real family, and a homie got problems, you have to help him. And if you dont do it, it's cool, but you cant diss him if he asks help to another "family". I see it like that. No disrespect, just money. Peace.

Feel ya Tonio.. but IM STILL PISSED.. cuz it just means that the communication between The Pound is all cross wired.  Yea.. HE (the key word is HE) had money issues.. but this move isnt good for the team.

Example,
No matter what.. If Shaq or Kobe where to leave the Lakers for money.. it wouldnt be good for the team.  It would be good for that person only.  Thats not friendship.. thats not business.  The Pound have always claimed family.. so Im pissed.. that Kurupt did this.. and Im pissed that now.. there are diss's flying around.  I wish at best.. that Daz, Snoop and the rest of the pound would simply understand and continue making good music.  But since they aint.. Im pissed at KURUPT for doin it in the first place.

Yeah homie, i'm not here to defend Kurupt, but to try to see the thing from the real prospective. You talked about family? Well.. where's the family with Daz dissing Snoop and Nate? Or staying on Death Row back in the days? Where's the family with Warren G cutted out? Where's the family with Daz making DPG and Snoop making Dogghouse? And Kurupt being signed with Antra? And Warren G to Universal? And Dr.Dre to Aftermath? And Nate to Elektra? Where's the family with Snoop forgetting about DPG and taking care about Doggy's Angels, and Eastsidaz (and both the groups are broken now), or Latoya Williams, Kokane (didnt he diss the fuck outta Snoop back in the days?), etc? Dont get me wrong, they tight, but... Where's the family with Nate not asking Daz & Warren G to partecipate to his album? Where's the family with Snoop & Nate not having time (wft?) to make 213 album? (basically to help Warren G). Where's the family with Dre not wanting to work with Daz no more, and with Daz dissing him back badly? And i can go on an on an on. You think that Kurupt on Tha Row is really that big a problem? I dont think so, homie. Sure it is, but DPG was already dead IMO. At least as a family.

Damn! When you put all those arguments together it paints a pretty bleak picture, doesn't it? You're right - the closeness the whole crew had back in the past has been crumbling for a while, and Kurupt just took the most 'contoversial' step to rid himself of the financial situation that left him in.

And I feel ya Ax - I really miss that chemistry that everyone used to have. I'd love to hold out some hope for that mythical track on Dre's next CD - a chance to hear as many of the family back together as bullshit beefs and label politics will allow. Kepp your fingers crossed eh. Gotta say, without putting too much pressure on the man, I think Dre is the only one with the pull to bring everyone back together again one last time...
