Gonna be much more interesting than the Snoop biopic. We already know all about his life and story. The story of Daz, the man behind the success of Snoop Dogg, Dr Dre and others is where the interesting story lies.

God I really hope the Snoop biopic won't just be the obvious moments but I know it will...
1. Snoop will entertain as a child at his moms parties
2. Some scene where one of his moms boyfriends does some hardcore gangsta shit sort of like Samuel Jackson in Menace to Society
3. Snoop gets kicked out, selling drugs
4. Jail scene where he's down and out but Warren G convinces him not to give up on his raps
5. Comes out and meets Dre and starts recording with him
6. Pac dies
7. Beef with Suge

Snoop is asking Pac if that was good, Pac said yes and mentioned he appreciated Dogg hopping on and doing that for him. Very cool, calm, friendly, legit interaction. That was recorded June 15th, 1996.
Clearly they at least still had love for and respected each other. Again, maybe not best friends, but I don't think they ever were to be honest. So unless this intense hate came within the last 2 months before Pac's death, i think maybe the amount of 'hate' Pac had for Snoop was blown out of proportion. I do think Pac was frustrated a bit that he was staying neutral in the Biggie beef, but many people around Pac were staying neutral. Also makes me curious because in the interviews about One Nation all the way up until his death, Pac was mentioning Snoop being on the album as one of the features and highlights. Seems like if Pac really started to despise Snoop, he would've removed him from that outro and stopped mentioning he was going to be on the album. Yep 👍 Knew I could count on the older O.G z at the forum that remember the energy then. And that's not fake energy at the House of Blues either. That is genuine love as homies who are winning the championship together.
It ain't Shaq and Kobe at all because those two guys are different eras and energies. Pac and Snoop are nearly age mates and Snoop and Frank (PAC's bodyguard) have also mentioned those nights when Pac and Snoop would get the two penthouse apartments and there would even be nights when just the two of them would go thru a pound of weed together and just bond with each other the whole night

And this was in the very last days of PAC's life. So PAC didn't live to either make up or fully fall out with Snoop. And as far we know from the Mike Tyson fight Pac was still riding for Death Row and Snoop was still riding for Death Row and it was all being handled internally.
I'm not going to argue that they wouldn't have fallen out soon if Pac lived. But them being homiez from way back in the Poetic Justice days to having a manly disagreement for a few days — you still have to conclude that they were homies and loved each other as equals at the top of the game and status only few will ever know

I still maintain though that that incident happened in PAC's very last days — so it would be like if Jordan and Pippen won 6 championships together and road the back of the bus together every day as the lead dogs 🐕 talkin shit on Wennington and Scott Burrell, Jerry Krause. And then let's say at the award ceremony back in Chicago Pippen made some comments that pissed off Jordan and then Pipp died a few days later.

pac wasn't just having some regular rap beef with biggie lol .... he literally thought this guy tried to have him killed and was sleeping with his wife as revenge.

Somebody made another good point in the thread that after Snoop's murder trial he wanted to take the easy way and just be like "oh I like everybody" because he was scared, and had kids and family to think about — and it was no longer about making his name on the streets, he didn't want more drama
Truth is, Snoop was riding with Pac, they were like brothers at the top of the game. And Snoop just kind of came soft in loyalty there in the last dayz of their friendship
Pac was gonna challenge him and make him own up to that. But not to the point that snoop really needed to bring a knife on that private jet — and look what happened — nothing — Snoop never got threatened on the plane and never even needed it

In one of them Neckbone interviews he mentions that Snoop left Pac and Death Row hanging when they went to have a drunk school fight in the park (Central Park), but ended up being surrounded by Nasty Nas and a 100 or so NY goons...made it out alive and lucky not to get jumped as Nas most likely gave them a pass whilst Snoop was on radio showing Biggie and NY luv.
When Biggie used to call up the radio, he would tell NY to represent and trailers (Snoop's) would get got shot up.
To his credit Neckbone dont hate on anyone in those interviews, this the one thing that he shook his head @ :grumpy:

Did Pac ever diss Snoop? I thought they was best friends.
According to Suge, there's an unreleased song from 2pac dissing Snoop from beginning to end. He talked about it during an interview around the time when he first got out of prison - can't remember which one. But he said he wasn't going to put it out.

Yew, old Suge mentioned 2Pac in one of his fits and tantrums spit fire on Snoop in a studio session, but Knight was not looking to fuck with one of his bankable stars publicly.
It's also Suge yappin so maybe bullshit, but it's the kinda thing a heated Pac would of most def done.
Suge would of put it out afterwards on the funny 'Tha Row' diss comps, for sure if he had the chance...might of been blocked or asked not to be released by the Pac estate.

It's revisionist history like a lot of things. Somebody made another good point in the thread that after Snoop's murder trial he wanted to take the easy way and just be like "oh I like everybody" because he was scared, and had kids and family to think about — and it was no longer about making his name on the streets, he didn't want more drama
Truth is, Snoop was riding with Pac, they were like brothers at the top of the game. And Snoop just kind of came soft in loyalty there in the last dayz of their friendship
Pac was gonna challenge him and make him own up to that. But not to the point that snoop really needed to bring a knife on that private jet — and look what happened — nothing — Snoop never got threatened on the plane and never even needed it

In one of them Neckbone interviews he mentions that Snoop left Pac and Death Row hanging when they went to have a drunk school fight in the park (Central Park), but ended up being surrounded by Nasty Nas and a 100 or so NY goons...made it out alive and lucky not to get jumped as Nas most likely gave them a pass whilst Snoop was on radio showing Biggie and NY luv.
When Biggie used to call up the radio, he would tell NY to represent and trailers (Snoop's) would get got shot up.
To his credit Neckbone dont hate on anyone in those interviews, this the one thing that he shook his head @ :grumpy:
They even played a clip of Snoop casually telling porkies about that incident :snoop:

Suge and Pac were very close, I do believe that. Unfortunately I think Suge had ulterior motives in their friendship. Pac could be naive at times in a sense with who he surrounds himself with.

Snoop flopped a few months later on Doggfather while PAC reached Prophet/Bob Marley/like status with 7 Day Theory. So Snoop may have been making safe moves for his family, but from a fan's perspective maybe Pac did need to check him over going soft at the tail end of the summer of 96'
So I don't have a problem with Pac checking him or being mad at him after he made those comments about being cool with Big and Puff. And it doesn't ruin my perfect 14 year old narrative of how great everything was in the mid-90's death row era and the pinnacle it had reached by summer 96
So I can still keep what Sccit labels as my fanciful childhood narrative of Snoop and Pac being homies at the height of their field (the same way I also believe Jordan and Pippen to be like brothers at the height of their field for 6 championships.

I alone have provided many examples of that, even to the point of some of the Outlawz going back to Jersey in the middle of recording sessions, only to return and be friends a few weeks later. Just because Pac was upset with Snoop at that moment, and I don't doubt that he was, does not mean it was going to become another Biggie level feud situation. Makes for a fun narrative though, doesn't it?

I agree. I have it too. It was a decent book at the time. But looking at it now, it's pretty weak compared to what's out there. Some of the information is inaccurate now that we have more information on things. Far from ‘great'.

Homie if you want hiphop books — the one people always miss — especially true Pac fans — is Darren Bastefields "Back in The Day" book about being best friends with 2pac in Baltimore.
There's many other great hiphop books — but I just wanted to mention that one since it seems nobody knows about it
