.......................................................................................... Short Dawg Tha Native Presents "Short Stories" - By : Nima - January 31, 2008

I want to introduce you all to Short Dawg Tha Native, an indian rapper from the reservation of San Manuel. He's from the Yuhaviatam tribe in Southern California, and is trying to get his name out in the rap game.
His musical influences came from his step father - one of the best known drummers in the Inland Empire, and his mother, who fronts her own band. He recently opened up for Tech N9ne on the Tech's MLK 2007 Tour, and released an album called "Short Stories", which features Bad Azz and Mellow Man Ace, through Voodoo Nation Records.
I have a couple of tracks from the album available for ya'll to check out to get a feel for Short Dawg. The first one is called "Still Ghetto", a deep and laid back song about his trials and tribulations growing up:
Short Dawg Tha Native - Still Ghetto
The second track is called "Bounce Back" a Funk Doctor produced West Coast joint featuring Bad Azz on a verse! Check this one out below:

.......................................................................................... Bone Thugs N Harmony - Canadian Tour Cancelled - By : JustinL - January 30, 2008

Dubcnn has just been informed that the upcoming Bone Thugs N Harmony tour dates in Canada have been cancelled. The group was denied access by Canadian Customs because of their past criminal history, and their music was considered to be too violent. Bone Thugs had sold out dates in Calgary (1/30), Vancouver (1/31), Winnipeg (2/1), Edmonton (2/2), and Victoria (2/15) to promote "Strength and Loyalty" and the "Ruthless Thugs" release. The group was able to successfully tour Canada last year with no problems, so this comes as a surprise to both the artist and fans. Dubcnn will keep the readers updated with more news regarding this issue. Discuss This Topic

.......................................................................................... Young De Writes "YOUR SONG" - Everyone Read! - By : Eddie Gurrola - January 30, 2008

After being featured prominently on our site this past year, Young De came to Dubcnn with an idea to give back to the readers of our fine community. When you hear De's street album "Audio Hustlaz Vol. 1", you'll get his whole life story. By the time the record is done, you'll understand who he is and where he's coming from. Since we're all family here, De feels its only right to make a new song that will let YOU air your story out to the world as well.
What is your story? You don't need to lead a lavish life to enter in this project. You can write about anything that means something to you, what you believe in, what you represent, or what you like to do for fun. After you've decided what you want the world to know, send an e-mail in to eddie@dubcnn.com with your name and where you're from.
NOTE: Any e-mails that involve hate or disrespect toward others will be immediately disregarded.
De will take all of the submissions that he gets and create a Dubcnn Anthem for 2008 that will tell the stories of the readers of Dubcnn! This is "YOUR SONG"!
EVERYONE who submits their name and/or life stories will be featured directly on the record. De doesn't care how long the song has to be. As long as everyone gets represented, that's all that matters!
"Your Song: A Dubcnn Anthem For 2008" will be included as a bonus track on De's street album "Audio Hustlaz Vol. 1" when it drops on February 7th. You've got to get your submission in by February 5th, 2008 at 12 AM PST so De can record the song in time for the drop!
We can't wait to hear what your story is, so don't hesitate to enter the contest if you want the world to know about YOU!
If you have any questions about this project, please don't hesitate to contact me at eddie@dubcnn.com. We don't want anyone to miss out on the opportunity to be a part of this!Discuss This Topic

.......................................................................................... Jozeemo Is Telling "The Untold Story" - By : LilJay - January 27, 2008

Hall Of Justus member Jozeemo has been putting in a lot of work and making noise in the last few months, not only in his home state North Carolina, but the Hip Hop community as a whole. He got people talking after dropping an outstanding verse on "That Ain't Love" from Little Brother's "Get Back" album. But before people even got a chance to hear him on that song, he released his own project called "Cry Now L.A.F. Later" around the same time.
While "Cry Now L.A.F. Later" is still being pushed as his priority project, Jozee just put out a free Mix-CD called "The Untold Story" earlier this week. It's a combo of some of his body of work, past, present and future and it serves as an introduction to draw people's attention to the street album.
"The 'Cry Now L.A.F Later' album is the one that's out in the stores, and 'The Undtold Story' is a free project that serves as an introduction," Jozeemo told Dubcnn. "A lot of people know who I am right now, but not too many people have heard my music. So I'm giving them something free so they can hear what I sound like, and maybe they will go buy the album after they heard it. The free mixtape is strictly to promote whatever I got going on, which is 'Cry Now L.A.F. Later'."
"Cry Now L.A.F. Later" features his next single "Lose It" featuring Little Brother and the current single "Ya Hear Me" produced by 9th Wonder, which he recently shot a video for. Jozeemo is also focusing on his own imprint Blockhuggerz Entertainment and the artists signed to it, so you can expect more of that gully Hip-Hop from East Durham!
"Right now I wanna get the people talking with the projects I got out, but at the same time I wanna promote my label too which is Blockhuggerz Entertainment," he continued. "I got a couple of artists that's about to come out. As for the future, I will be featured on 9th Wonder's album 'The Wonder Years' and Big Pooh of Little Brother solo album."

.......................................................................................... New Evidence Video "Chase The Clouds Away" - By : Nima - January 22, 2008

One of the most overlooked Hip-Hop albums of 2007 was without a doubt Evidence of Dilated Peoples' solo project "The Weatherman LP". The album was filled with good Hip-Hop from top to bottom, something everybody could relate to, nothing over the top, and that is exactly the line Ev pushes with the second video off "The Weatherman LP".
He picked the song "Chase The Clouds Away", produced by Alchemist, and this video shows that low budget doesn't necessarily mean crappy. Directed by Nicholaus Goossen, the video has a positive vibe to it, and should definitely be checked out by everybody.

Best of all, they're going to drop the album exclusively on Dubcnn for free download when it's ready to be released! Stay tuned for more information on this exciting new venture as it becomes available.
We can't leave you without some more new music from Meech, so we're going to drop off a new song from the highly-anticipated "New West World Order Volume 2" street album. "NWWOV2" will be released exclusively on Dubcnn for free download in the next few weeks.
The track you're gonna hear today is another heater from Young Mack Life, who has been working non-stop in the studio as of late. He teamed up with Chucky Makavelli, who you'll remember from "NWWOV1" or his work with DJ Quik, for a remake of the 2Pac & Richie Rich classic "Ratha Be Ya N*gga".
The two put their own unique spin on the original, and the result is definitely worth checking out! Download it below.
