As part of Dubcnn I was privileged to sit in on a studio session with Game and Pharrell as they worked on Game's "RED Album", scheduled to drop in February of 2010.  Colton City's 40 Glocc was recently involved in an incident with rapper Plies in which Jamie Foxx recalled Plies in fear ran and hid in the bathroom from 40 and his Zoo Life crew.
After Jamie Foxx who was featured on the single they were shooting the video for that day told his radio show the event that went down, news quickly spread all across the internet. Plies then responded with a track called "Letter To The Industry", which took shots at 40 & Zoo Life.
Today we've got a response from the Zoo Life camp called "Return 2 Sender" in which 40 Glocc & Lil Boo go hard at Plies.

 Lil Wayne's West Coast protege Tyga created a name for himself last year with his "Coconut Juice" song which received major airplay.
He then went on to team up with DJ Ill Will and DJ Rockstar to release a 14 track mixtape entitled Outraged & Underage. Such was the success of this release he decided to stick with the same formula on his new mixtape "Black Thoughts".

 Last but by no means least we have a new mixtape from Dubcnn regular, September 7th.
"Eternal Legend" is a tribute mixtape to the king of pop Michael Jackson, and celebrates the musical legacy he left behind. Some songs you've definitely heard, others are more obscure and there's also a great September 7th remix featuring production from Dae One.
The intro is also interesting, it's a "Workin Day & Night" demo session of Michael with his brother Randy and sister Janet on percussion back in the day!

 I had to search through our extensive archives to be exactly when we last dropped a solo update on Sly Boogy. Despite appearing in updates during most months of 2009, all have been as features or mentions. It was October 31st when we last got some music from the man himself, when we dropped the exclusive free download of his then new EP The Beauty Of Death EP featuring production from TWhy, XL Middleton, The System, Tweek Beatz, and Noah Ayala and guest appearances by the PBG, a group consisting of Sly Boogy, RnB and Dirty Birdy, as well as Crooked I, Kam and vocalists Kierra, Miss King, AP and Jah Free.
Since then Sly Boogy has been quiet on the solo release tip appearing on mixtapes and on some tracks including the Dreamz single Midnight & U and the J. King cut Let It Be Known produced by J Steez.
Then today, out of the blue, we get hit with a brand new track - featuring Akon (interpolation/sample of Akon's "Up & Down" from 2008) - called "Up And Down" alongside news of a new solo project of which this is the lead street single! The new mixtape is called "Clean Up Man" a collaboration with DJ Clean from the IE.

 Earlier this week we brought you news that Dubcnn regular Jihad will now be releasing music under the name Deen, which means "way of life" or "belief" in Arabic.
We also briefly mentioned a project called "Unity Vol. 1: The Middle East Meets Japan" which would feature a bunch of international artists from the Middle East and Japan. This project was aimed to bring Unity amongst artists from different regions and to help introduce them to a worldwide audience.
The mixtape is in conjunction with DJ Warrior and DJ Joey Slick, mixed by DJ Stone and also features DJ Rocky Rock as a special guest DJ. Released through Rebellion Records and Joint One, we are proud to be able to provide the mixtape for free download today for all our readers.
Deen - Unity Vol 1: The Middle East Meets Japan (Mixed By DJ Stone) (Free Download)

For the new record, Daz and Kurupt once again linked up with their Bone Thugs family, Krayzie Bone to be exact. Together they came up with a track called "Money Fold'n", a smooth laid back track that all the smokers on here are sure to enjoy blazing to.

 Sometimes our Forum Members really show how switched on they are when they drop a discussion thread today to mark the 10th anniversay of Dr. Dre's last solo outing "2001" - you read that right today, November 16 2009, is 10 years since "2001" hit shelves worldwide.
For those of you who were online back in 1999 you will remember the incredible hype and suspense around this record. From the leaked RealMedia (rm file) tracks that were circling around to the very low quality, early MP3s the internet was buzzing, perhaps the first time the internet was truly used to support the release of a key Hip-Hop album; albeit on a small scale compared to the online scene today.
In fact it was out of the ashes of the Dre 2001 Forums of that era that The Westcoast Affiliates Forum and subsequently Dubcc was born. You could summise that without the release of Dr. Dre's "2001" and the online community that grew, Dubcnn may not have come into existence as Dubcnn was founded on the back of the group of people that came from the Dre 2001 Forums - that community is now over 20,000 strong and reside at Dubcc.
Of course the album itself has a much bigger legacy. Not only did it spawn countless hits and reunite the westcoast for the next few years - it has mapped much of the musical landscape of the past decade across all genres.
Today we stand to acknowledge an album that sounds as fresh today as it did 10 years ago when it first graced our CD Players. As a reminder we have put the whole album, for listening only, on a tribute page to mark this 10 Year Anniversary.

 We've just been informed that Jihad, regularly featured here will now be releasing music under the name Deen, which means "way of life" or "belief" in Arabic.
All his upcoming projects will be coming out under the new moniker Deen, including a compilation mixtape he put together with DJ Warrior and DJ Joey Slick. The tape is mixed by DJ Stone and also features DJ Rocky Rock as a special guest DJ. The tape is titled "Unity Vol. 1: The Middle East Meets Japan" and features a bunch of international artists from the Middle East and Japan.
Released through Rebellion Records and Joint One, the goal of the mixtape is to bring Unity amongst artists from different regions and to help introduce them to a worldwide audience.
We have a new track, "Rhyme", which is the lead single off his upcoming Southeast Asian influenced album titled "Rebel Lion" and is produced by Dubai based producer, Punjabisha. It also appears on "Unity Vol. 1: The Middle East Meets Japan".

 Earlier this year, we announced an upcoming project by former Aftermath producer Focus aka Focus... aka TheRealFocus (not sure what name he goes by these days!), titled "Pay Homage". The concept of the album is that on each track, Foc will be paying tribute to a producer that he admires.
Three of the tributes had leaked online so far, the DJ Premier Tribute (ft. Royce Da 5'9. Phonte & Stat Quo), the J Dilla Tribute (ft. Slum Village, Frank Nitti & illa J) and the Pete Rock Tribute (ft. Rapper Big Pooh, Sha Stimuli & Kurupt).
An early version of the most anticipated tribute of them all has now leaked, the homage to Dr. Dre. Everybody was anxious to see what the former apprentice of the doctor cooked up in his tribute to Dre. The version that has leaked features Crooked I and Jay Rock, however the final version is said to feature an additional artist on it.

 The video we're bringing you today isn't West Coast Hip-Hop, but I feel it deserves everybody's attention. Most of you should be aware of the relentless protests and riots in the streets of Iran ever since the highly controversial presidential elections this past June.
These recent events have shown the world a different side of the iranian people, who are sick and tired of living under a dictatorship without the most basic human rights. Another consequence of these events was the emergence of musical talents, music still being the best way to express ones struggle.
One of these talents goes by the name of P.Cantell. His mission is to tell the real Iranian story, not how the politicians and the media portray it, but how the people living there experience it every day. He is currently working on an album titled "A Journey To Iran", and one of the songs on there deals with the elections and everything that happened in the last couple of months.

The name Big Fase 100 is notorious in west coast hip hop music. He's been back as a recording artist for a while now and gearing up to release his mixtape "Goin' Green - Money Motivated Music" along with September 7th.
We have the debut single off the upcoming mixtape today, its called "Cannon" and features Brazil Street Records artist Greedy Da 554 Boy. The song is produced by Bellyflop who was featured on Dubcnn earlier this year with his beat tape. Check out the single below.

There are two leaks from the album available. The first is called "Pimp Sh-t" gives us a view of their song making talent and the second track "You Dont Wanna F-ck With Me" which features Crooked I and showcases their lyrical ability. Both songs are produced by Pistol.

 In many people’s opinions, music today is dominated with albums that are filled with too many producers, and sometimes the result is a cluttered mess with a lack of sound continuity. Nowadays, in this singles-driven music market, producers are a name brand and are used as a marketing tool if they produce an artist’s song. Granted, that might work for the short-term instant success, but overall, the “sound” of the artist is compromised. On the other hand, the sonic personality of a one-producer album tends to develop and evoke longevity.
 Meet Swedish producer, Ajami, who has been working on a project on the West Coast, in Las Vegas to be exact, with Sin City’s very own, Airamis.  Just a couple of days ago, West Coast rapper Kali signed a six figure deal with Universal. The younger brother of R&B singer Danny Boy has already worked with artists such as Kurupt, Petey Pablo, Eastwood, Roscoe and others in the past. Under Jazzy Management, Kali is set to release his debut in January through 2active/Universal.
We have two tracks two preview from his upcoming project: First off we have the nice & smooth "Way Out" which has that West Coast signature sound, followed by a track called "Talk 2 Much".
